{ 20 } Field Trip : Spin the Bottle

Sofia's POV

It's 5 o clock and it's almost night time. This is our last stop where we can make a bonfire, without the teacher. Just us students, having fun.

"Saan kaya tayo pwede gumawa ng bonfire?" Tanong ni JM sa aming lahat.

"Dito na Lang. Malapit lang sa beach pero may enough distance para hindi mabasa at mamatay ang apoy." Sagot naman Ng isang classmate namin.

They made the bonfire.

"You know, masyadong boring ngayon. Can't we play something?" I said habang nakasandal sa balikat ni JM. It's really boring and I want to sleep.

"Spin the bottle!" Suggest naman ng isang classmate.

"Tange! May bote ba tayo?" -Classmate 2

"Tange ka rin. Anong tawag dito?" -Classmate 3 at naglabas ng isang bote from his bag.

We all laugh because of their argument.

He placed the bottle at the middle, but not near the bonfire. "Let's start!" He announced and spin the bottle.

It landed on JM.

"JM!"

Napaayos na ako ng upo and looked at him.

"Truth or Dare?" Tanong nila kay JM.

"Truth."

Nagkatinginan silang lahat. Biglang nagsalita si Daze. "May crush ka ba dito sa BOTCH?"

Nanlaki ang mga Mata namin. It's like it's an unexpected question to be asked. And syempre, kailangan maging honest.

"Yes, I do."

"Who?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

He shrugged his shoulders. "One question only. Hindi ko naman sinabi na TRUTHS eh."

I rolled my eyes. Pss. Pilosopo ang peg.

They spun the bottle again and it landed on... Me.

"Ugh. Whatever. Truth."

Yung isang classu namin ang nagsalita. "Marami kaming hindi alam tungkol sayo, Sofia. Meron ka bang part sa life mo na gusto mo balikan?"

I thought of my life. I know I can't do something like time travelling but I want to improve my life. Starting from my childhood. Wait, Childhood!

"Yes I do. My childhood. I have this really cool boy in my place and we were friends.. but one day, my parents shut me out and I never got to know him even more. So now, I forgot all about him. Except from his basketball skills and his cute alien smile. He's kinda like Daze, for a moment." Sagot ko at tumingin kay Daze who is now smiling. Haha! He really reminds me of that boy. I wonder how he's doing now? Masaya na ba siya?

Daze sighed. "Anong pangalan niya?"

"Uhmm.. si..ano.." I took a deep breath. "I don't remember."

"Okay! Wag na tayo maging sad. Spin the bottle!"

I spin the bottle and it landed on Daze. Woah. Is this a coincidence? Or sinasadya lang nila na tumapat sa Amin.

"Boom! Si Daze Leion ang tinapatan ng tadhana! Truth or Dare?"

Daze chuckled and answered, "Dare."

"Nabalitaan namin na gusto mo ang isang Sofia Taylor.." Nagkatinginan kaming dalawa ni Daze. Me, confused, him, smirking. "Isigaw mo ang limang salita na gusto mo sabihin sa kanya."

Lahat sila nagtinginan. Tumitili naman Yung mga babae.

"Omaygash!!"
"Feelings exposed na!"

He looked at me in the eye and smiled.

"Kung! Sino! ang! Hinahanap-hanap! ko!"

O-O... Kung.. Sino.. Ang..Hinahanap-hanap..NIYA?!

"Kyaaah!!"
"OMG. Kiligs ako."
"Nice one! Perfect answer!"

Lahat sila nagaalisan na. Kami naman ni Daze, nagpaiwan para patayin ang bonfire. Hinihintay lang namin si JM para ibigay sa Amin ang wet blanket. For now, naka-upo lang kami ni Daze sa log chairs namin.

There was silence between us . Nakakabingi. Until he spoke up.

"Sinabi mo kanina na may childhood friend ka diba? Magaling sa basketball.. at cute Yung ngiti."

Wow. What a weird topic to be in. "Yes, and so?"

"Anong gagawin mo kung nakita mo siya sa harap mo?"

I shrugged my shoulders, giving him his answer. "I don't know. But one day that will happen, I'll meet him once again."

"Well, dumating na ang panahon."

Nanlaki ang mata ko. Wait.. siya.. siya Yung childhood friend ko?

"Ikaw?? This isn't funny. Is it true?"

"Oo. Daze Leion. Basketball. Drianna. Gavriel. Atska ang Barbie mo. Tandang tanda ko pa yu--"

I hugged him. After several years, exactly 11, I have found my childhood friend. Pero...paano kung malaman Ni Mommy na nakita ko ulit si Daze, ang kaibigan ko na ayaw na ayaw niya. Shit. I'll be dead. But I can't deny how happy I am to be with my old friend that I really miss.

"Sofia, paka makita pa nila tayo.."

"S-Sorry.." I pulled out of the hug and fixed my hair that is literally on my face.

"Ang tagal ng panahon na di tayo nagkita. Musta ka na? Bakit ba di na tayo nagkita?"

Tumikim muna ako. It's a long story but worthy to share with my long lost friend. I mean, I was just six back then and he's 7!

"After my bump, pinagbawalan na ako ni Mommy to play with you because you play 'rough' street games, also called basketball. And after that, I never really had friends. Alice is really special for me since she caught my attention and accepted my bitchy attitude as her best friend. Then here I am.."

We both smiled at each other. We even hugged abit but quickly pulled off.

"Sofia.. Daze..."

We looked back and saw..JM.

"JM, it's now what it looks like. We're not a couple." I warned him.

Nakita Kong he clenched his hands into a fist. "If not, then what? Dating? Friends with benefits? Please explain to me,guys. Kung may secret kayo, mind if you share?"

I ran to JM and held his hand. "JM, the story about the childhood thing? This is it. Si Daze Yun. He remembered me and now we know each other again, but in a different way."

He looked at both of us, still confused. "Matagal na kayong magkakilala as friends? Since childhood?"

Umakbay si Daze sa akin and smiled.

"Yup. 11 years and back together."

Yes. 11 years ago, we were friends but after a while, got separated. Then 11 years after, we're back together. Friends really do find a way.
