Alex stood on the shores of Kalokairi with a small smile on her face as she soaked in the sun's rays. She could never get over the weather here or how beautiful this place was. It was just the right amount of warmth and the sea was a clear blue.
The waves were warm as they slowly lapped against the blonde's ankles, sometimes splashing up higher and getting her shorts wet when they did. The girl took in a deep breath and closed her eyes.
Something about just taking the time to stand on the shores and enjoy life made her relax almost instantly. And Alex really needed the relaxing moment, especially since she had just received responses from her three possible fathers saying they were coming to the wedding.
She knew that it was a risky thing to do, sending the invitations, and Alex didn't want to think about how her mother would react when she found out. Alex felt a small moment of guilt as she thought about the three men who had all ended their relationship with her mother in bad terms. She quickly shook her head to get rid of those thoughts.
Sure it probably wasn't the best idea, but this was her father she was talking about. Her mother wouldn't tell her anything about him and all Alex wanted was to have him in her life.
Besides, maybe this would help her mother get some much needed closure. Alex had seen the way that Y/N got upset sometimes when she thought no one was looking. It was hard to forget. After all, Y/N had not only been abandoned, but also cheated on and she had even lost a friendship that had obviously meant a lot to her.
Maybe this wedding would be the thing to finally help her mother get over what had happened. And if not, well, Alex would just wing it when it came to that.
The girl sighed and opened her eyes to glance at her watch. Her eyes widened at the time and she quickly turned on her heels and ran down the beach and towards the docks.
Her best friends, Michelle and Liz, were coming in today for the wedding and Alex had promised to meet them as soon as they got here which was two minutes ago.
It had been a while since she saw her friends. The last time she had seen Liz was when Alex had been in college. The two had gone to the same community college in the town across the sea from Kalokairi. Alex had finished her two years there and had decided to come home, wanting to help her mother with the hotel and spend time with Peter, her boyfriend at the time. Liz had wanted to go on to another college and the two had been keeping in touch ever since.
As for Michelle, Alex hadn't seen her since the last time the girl had come to visit which was about a year ago. Michelle lived across the sea in the town over where Alex had grown up going to school.
