Bucky Barnes stared at the open envelope that sat on the counter of his apartment as he tapped his fingers against it.
Was he really doing this? Was he really about to go see his ex again?
Bucky sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he let out a frustrated sigh. To say he was surprised when he first opened the envelope was an understatement. He hadn't known what was inside to begin with, but a wedding invitation to the daughter of his ex was definitely not on the list of possible things it could've been.
It had shocked him to say the least and he had ended up staring at the slip of paper for a solid hour before finally muttering an, "Oh God."
It had taken him another hour that consisted of him arguing with himself before he made up his mind to actually go. It was crazy, he knew that much, but the idea of getting to see Y/N again was enough to make him want to go.
He didn't expect anything out of it. He just wanted to see her again. Especially after the way he had ended things, he just needed to see her one more time.
It was probably a bad move on his part, but if Y/N was willing to invite him to the wedding, then how bad could it possibly be?
The days before the wedding had ticked by and now it was currently early morning the day before the wedding. He had a flight to catch in an hour and his nerves were getting the best of him.
What if the invitation had been a mistake? What if this was all some joke and he was going to end up looking like a fool?
Bucky took a deep breath and glanced down at the invitation one last time. He quickly shook away his thoughts and grabbed the invitation before he could change his mind. He then picked up his suitcase that was on the floor and walked out the door of his apartment door and locked it behind him.
Bucky had to keep reminding himself that he could do this. If he thought any different, he knew he would end up turning right back around and lock himself in his apartment.
He took a deep breath and walked over to the taxi he had called a little bit ago. He quickly got in before he could change his mind and then he was off.
Bucky's eyes flickered over to his house that was now quickly disappearing from view before he looked down at the envelope. His throat felt tight as he stared at his name that was written on the front.
It took a moment, but he found himself not being able to stop himself from smiling. He was actually doing this.
He was going to see Y/N again.
