CHAPTER 3

“So Niall, how’d that turn out for you?” said Harry with a cheeky smirk on his face, “Yeah, thanks for that bud. Embarrass me and all in front of the beautiful Aussie girl aye” I replied. “Oi, you should be thanking me for that mate, didn’t you see the look she gave you, and you even got to talk to her” he said while coming round and pinching my already red cheeks. “Oh hush up Styles, let him be, we have a signing to get ready for” … Liam always managed to save me from further embarrassment, but that may of just been his mature streak shining through, making sure we made it to our signing on time. “Yeah, that sounds good… getting ready and stuff” I said, trying to brush off the slight sense of embarrassment.

“WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO WEAR NIALL?”  Called Louis across the room, he always consulted with us to make sure we all looked decent and none of us looked too similar. “MY BLACK JEANS, WHITE SHIRT AND NAVY CARDIGAN LOUIS, HOW ABOUT YOU?” I hollered back at him. There was a pause, you could tell he was thinking.. “I’VE DECIDED TO GO TYPICAL AND WEAR MY MAROON PANTS, AND A WHITE AND NAVY BLUE STRIPED SHIRT, BUT REALLY THICK STRIPES. NOT THE CONCERT SHIRT.” He finally replied. Just as he had I has finished getting ready and had walked into the lounge where the rest of the boys were sitting, waiting to leave. “ohhhh, you like nice” said Zayn giving me the once over. “Hoping to meet the curly haired brunette there are we Nialler?” Harry popped out. “You know, I actually hope I do see her there boys, she seems perfect, I honestly think she’d be the girl I’d share my food with”  after saying that, the room was filled with “awwwwws” I think I even heard one escape from Pauls mouth. “WHAT, WHAT, WHAT DID I MISS?” Lou screamed as he ran into the room genuinely worried that he had missed something important. The boys began to explain and when  they were done Paul kindly interrupted and said “Sorry to break this up boys, but we have to get going” so we all headed out the door, past the ten million paps, (which Liam took a ‘Pap of the week’ shot to post on twitter) and then we were off. As we were driving out I couldn’t help but stare off and check to see if the girl from this morning was still outside the hotel, but I couldn’t spot her or her friends anywhere.

The rest of the car ride was pretty normal. You know, the odd girl screaming and then there’s always that one girl that reckons she can outrun our car. We passed some of Australia’s famous landmarks and even drove over the harbour bridge. “Look” cried Liam as he pointed to the Sydney Opera House. “Wow, it really is magnificent” Zayn said astonished. The boys then took some happy snaps, tweeted a little hello on twitter, updated the fans on what we were doing and even posted a few photos on our group account, one of me and the caption being “Niall, Dressed to impress ;) We’re off to a Signing in Sydney, can’t wait to meet the Aussie fans” There was instantly hundreds of replies asking “ohhh, who’s Niall dressing up for” or “OMG WE CAN’T WAIT FOR THE SIGNING” or the “Hey lads, how you doing, fancy following me?” …that one caught my eye particularly, I had a quick glance at the photo and thought this girl looked like the girl from this morning. But by the time I tried to reply, my phone had frozen and decided to crash. I brushed it off and we soon arrived at Westfield Sydney. This is where we would be having our CD signing today.

We drove into the bottom level car park and were escorted by security up stairs into the shopping centre. As we got closer we could hear feint screams, which got louder with every step we took. It sounded like there must have been thousands out there. They were all chanting “ONE DIRECTION. ONE DIRECTION. ONE DIRECTION” in perfect unison.   You have to admit. When there is that many people calling you name you feel pretty good about yourself. We heard the chants get louder, and louder and louder as we made it up to the 3rd level. Security suddenly got tighter and we had another 6 new guards sticking to us like leeches. They told us to stay in this room until we were given the signal, where we would then walk down and take our seats. The room we were in was really nicely decorated; the sofas were white, plush and had lovely purple suede cushions. I took a look around the room. The boys were all attacking the food platter in the middle of the table, Harry was hitting on the receptionist and Paul was verifying everything with the centre security. I then noticed a window. No one could see into this window, it looked like glass to anyone on the outside, but we could most certainly see out. I looked out and saw the mass of screaming girls. Most crying, or hyperventilating, but some, you could see some over in the corner with the medic. They were obviously girls who had passed out. I had begun to scan the audience, eager to see if my Brown haired princess was out there, but I was soon disrupted. “Time to get out there boys” announced one of the new security. He ran us through the procedure and what to do in case of an emergency and then lead us out onto the shopping centre floor. (next page)

The sound was deafening. As soon as the girls caught a glimpse of us they all went into breakdown mode. The screaming, crying, jumping up and down and the crazy hand gestures the girls were making was unreal. We had never seen anything like it. We all just looked at each other in disbelief and shook our heads. Everyone here had paid for a special ticket to be let in and to meet us. Tickets to these were always limited, as we only have so much time to sign everyone’s but we really wish we could do this more often. Anyways we were to get through 3500 fans today, but gosh, it sounded like we had just entered an arena of about 10,000. This made us so excited and gave us a thousand times more energy, we were pumped. We really were ready to meet some gorgeous Australian fans.
