The gathering

//Based on a dream I had about Heath, yes Heath. Just changing it to Jake//

Today I was going to a gathering with my parents friends. I call it a party but that's just me. My parents were dragging me to it because they didn't know who all was gonna be their and I babysat their daughter so she would be happy to see me.

"Come on, it'll be fun" My mom said walking to the car. I didn't say anything, just got on my phone and started going through instagram like usual. I was watching everyone's stories and not paying attention to anything else, apparently my parents were talking to me, but I didn't hear them. When we arrived at their friends house I walked straight to the food because I was just surrounded by adults, and, food.

"Y/n!" Alex yelled. Alex was their 10 year old daughter

"Hey, what's up" I asked hugging her

"Wanna go play video games?" she asked jumping up and down

"In a minute, let me get food" and with that, she ran off to her room. She was probably going to play Minecraft and have me watch like usual. I filled up my plate because I knew I would be there for a while. I walk into her room and sure enough, she is sitting on her floor waiting for it to load. I sat on her bed and just went back on my phone.

I was in the middle of playing a game on my phone and somewhat listening to Alex talk about what she was doing and how she was doing things when  her mom walked in with one of her school friends. I decided that meant I could leave, so i did. I walked back over to the food and got another plate of food before sitting down on a bench on their porch. I was alone because everyone else was either a small child or they were adults so I plugged in my headphones and started listening to music.

I was starting to fall asleep on the table before I was awoken by someone joining me at the table. I looked up and saw Jake, I knew him from YouTube but I didn't wanna have a fan girl moment and freak the fuck out, so I just sat back on my phone

"Oh, sorry, did I wake you up? Jake asked. I shook my head and went back to my phone. A couple adults joined us at the table and they all started talking, I wasn't interested so I went on facebook and started scrolling through my feed. I had my headphones in so I didn't know what they were talking about and I was falling asleep again. When I realized i was falling asleep I had my head of Jake's shoulder and his arm was around me. I quickly jumped up and apologized

"I'm so sorry, I must've fallen asleep" I said in a panic

"It's all good. It's not every day a beautiful girl falls asleep on my shoulder" He stuck out his hand "I'm Jake" He said smilng

"I'm y/n" I said shaking his hand. We sat and talked for a while and found out we have a lot in common. I found out that he was Alex's cousin and that's why he came all the way out here. When my parents came over and told me that it was time to go my smile turned to a frown. Jake saw this and he took my hand and brought me to the side of the house where no one was.

"You're a pretty cool chick, y/n. here's my number" He grabbed my phone and put his number in it before hugging me and kissing the top of my head. I walked to the car and texted him while my mom pelted me with questions

"who's the boy? what's his name? how old is he? where does he live?" My mom spewed out before I cut her off

"Mom, that's Jake. he's 19 and lives in LA Leave it be" I said putting my headphones in. My mom shook her head and continued driving. When we got back to the house I went straight to my room and laid on my bed. Jake asked if I wanted to call and I agreed. in not even 2 seconds he had requested to facetime

"Hey there" I said when I answer

"Hey cutie" He said smiling. I blushed and we talked until we both fell asleep on the phone. This became a nightly routine for a couple weeks. We weren't together, but we were becoming best friends. 

I found out that my family was taking a trip to LA to see my cousins for who knows why. I didn't think anything of it until I remembered that Jake is in LA. I frantically grabbed my phone and dialed his number, I memorized it cause i'm crazy. 

"Jake! I'm going to LA in a couple days to visit family" I yelled before he could speak

"You're joke? Really?" He asked sounding excited but skeptical

"Yes really!" I yelled jumping around my room. I couldn't wait to see him. He sounded just as excited as me which made me even more excited. The next few days were filled with planning on things to do and places to go. We had so many ideas he decided he wanted to make it a surprise. I was too excited for life

--Time Skip--

The day was finally here. I was going to LA and seeing Jake. I slept basically the whole plane ride and I texted Jake. its my first time in LA and it was way hotter than I expected it to be and I felt like I was gonna melt. I walked outside and was gonna get in the car when I heard a familiar voice call my name. I looked over and saw Jake. I dropped my bag and ran over and gave him a hug.

"How'd you get here so fast?" I asked letting him go, I looked over and my family had already left. I guess they thought I was busy

"I've been here for like 20 minutes" He said with a smile "I guess you'll be coming with me since your family kinda left you" I nodded and he opened his car door for me. He took me back to the house because he was  excited for everyone to meet me. I had seen the house before and I knew all about the roommates and I was super hyped and nervous.

"Guys!" He yelled dragging me into the house "this is my gir- my friend y/n" He said stuttering over his words. I waved and said hello to everyone before he dragged me away to his room. We talked and planned out the rest of our day. My family wasn't texting of calling me back so i'm pretty sure they kinda forgot about me, or they think im staying with Jake.

We planned to go to the beach for a while until we got hungry or tired. After playing in the sand and in the water we were sitting on the beach and I rested my head on his shoulder looking at the water.

"You know, this is how we were when we first met" He said putting his arm around me

"You're very right. who woulda thought this is how we would end up" I said smiling. We stayed like that for about 20 minutes before he broke the silence

"Hey, y/n. I gotta tell you something" He said. "I just, you're just so funny and cute and adorable and I know that you live a while away but I was wondering, do you wanna be m-" I grabbed his cheek and cut him off with a kiss. He kissed back and pulled me closer to him.

"So, is that a yes?" He said when we pulled away. I nodded and hugged him. We went back to his house and walked in. Everyone looked at us and awed. We headed upstairs and I grabbed some clothes and changed. We were gonna have to share a bed but I was perfectly okay with that. I got into bed and he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him

"Goodnight Princess" Jake said kissing my head

"Goodnight babe" I smiled snuggling into his chest
