Have you ever just felt like you were just drifting along in nothing, yet not moving at all? That was kind of how I felt. It felt like a weird, eery peace had flooded my senses and I had no want to move.
I lost track of time.
How long has it been since I first started experiencing this weightlessness?
How long will it be until it stops?
Do I want it to stop?
No, no I don't want it to. Or maybe I do.
I don't remember.
But the lights...
The lights seem to be pulling me.
Stretching the darkness.
Pulling me towards them.

I awoke with a terrifying gasp. I coughed, sputtered, trying to get air into my lungs. It took a good minute or so of convulsing on the ground to relearn how to breathe.
I laid on the ground, struggling, focusing on forcing air into my body. My breathes were ragged and noisy and they shook my body.
Finally getting down the basics of being alive I tried to recover my memories.
My name...it was... No, I had two. Was I Tora Scarlett? Or was I Valiente Soldado?
What happened to me? I remember heading to an island that used to be my home... Where the Soldados were massacred.
Soldado. That must be my last name. So I am Valiente Soldado. But why do I have a second name?
Oh, that's right. The reason I was back on the island in the first place. I wanted to find clues about who killed my people. I was taken away from the island, and I was being hunted for who I was. This kind woman with beautiful red hair... She gave me a new name and a new home.
I made a promise to return there. I remember saying that I would be okay. Who did I promise? Why do I feel guilty? Is it because I broke that promise? Did I not return?
That's right.
I didn't.
Something happened when I went back to the island. What was it?
Finally feeling physically good enough, I pulled myself out of my thoughts and on to my feet. My throat burned.
I needed a drink.
But where?
I was in a small clearing in the woods. Following my instincts i stumbled forward, grasping on to trees whenever I could.
I couldn't tell you how far or for how long I walked. But the sun was just starting to rise.
When I finally broke through the tree line, there was a building. It was oddly shaped, like a hat. There was a sign that have me the impression that it was a bar of sorts.
I staggered towards the door. I grabbed the handle and immediately regretted it when my weight caused the handle to open the door, leaving me to fall face first into the room.
The darkness grabbed at me once again.
