Chapter 1: Fate

"Mom, No!" the nine-year-old Gii giggled as her mom tickled her. Her dad had a soft smile on his face as his eyes were on the road. The small, happy family were going on a trip for the holidays since their daughter insisted.

Gii lays on her mom's lap and plays with her hair as she looks at her mother, taking in every single detail of her face.

"Let's bake cookies when we go back home" the excitement in her voice makes her mom chuckle.

"Yes baby, we'll do whatever you want" she kisses her daughter's forehead and smiles at her sweetly.

Gii was born after five years of their marriage and so she was brought up very affectionately. After years of trying, the parents finally had the joy of giving birth to their lovely child. They loved their daughter with all their heart and she was the only thing they ever wanted in their lives.

But the fate decided something else for them. God entertains himself as we struggle with our emotions, tests our minds and watch us play this game of life.

The family wanted to stop at a scenic place of the woods to capture some moments, but before they could do it, the raindrops continued their ravage on the earth, ripping cruelly at the ground and whistling angrily through the trees.

Gii's eyes widen in shock and a high pitched scream leaves her mouth as she holds onto her mom tightly. Tears filled the brim of her mom's eyes and she caresses her daughter's hair, securing Gii in her arms.

Gii's dad focuses on the road and carefully avoids the broken trees that are fallen on the ground. He drives carefully on the narrow road as the fate of his family is now in his hands.

He couldn't see the road clearly anymore and the rain isn't helping him.

"M-mom, I'm scared" Gii cries, as she flutters her eyelashes.

"Don't be scared baby, everything will be alright. I'm here with you" she pats the little girl's back and looks at her husband as tears blurred her eyes.

It was a bad idea, it was really bad for them to drive when the weather was like this, but everything happens for a reason and nothing can be avoided when fate plans something for you.

Without warning, the car lurched and loses its balance, hitting a tree. The hit was so hard that it tore off the doors and Gii was forcefully thrown from the car. She rolls out of the car and slides down a cliff.
Her mother and father were still trapped inside the car unconscious, with blood flowing through their bodies.

The cliff wasn't that deep so Gii slid down a rocky path and laid on the ground with wounds all over her body.

She's conscious and still breathing. Her vision is blurred but she tries to adjust it to the sight of the dim light around her. The leaves above her head reduce the speed of the rain droplets that are hitting her body.
Gii can't move a muscle nor scream as she lost more than one thing that evening.

She lost her parents and her voice.
