The sun had started to rise, the animals in the forest rising along with it. The birds had begun to chirp, the frogs had started to croak, and the butterflies had begun to fly. All the living creatures in the forest had started their day with a mild sun on their back and river streams to cool them off. The shade provided by the trees helped along with cooling down.
The fishes in the stream awoken with the sun glaring in their water, swimming freely, calmly. Well, they were until a beast decided to have an early breakfast. Its sharp canines, desperately trying to catch a fish, in its mouth. At this point, the wolf was gnawing on the water as the fish moved in a frenzy, jumping and swimming away, hoping to not be food for the creature aggressively attacking them.
Some fish managed to escape, some suffered the consequences, and the only thing remaining of them is the half-eaten bones in jeongguk's stomach.
"What a sight to wake up to." y/n teased. y/n had woken up to the sound of splashing water. At first, she panicked, assuming that jeongguk had gotten into trouble with someone or something, a fight breaking out. To only see the wolf jumping around in the water, its tail wagging, fetching for fish to devour. The wolf missed a few, gnawing on its own teeth, its jaw creating a clattering sound. Y/n had an amused smile on her face, the wolf resembling an over-hyper puppy she's seen in movies.
The wolf had paused in its track after hearing the sudden voice, a fish in its mouth. His head, leaning down into the water, his behind area sticking up in the air, his front legs bent, making him arch his body. The wolf quickly walked out of the lake, the water not higher than four feet, and rapidly shook its body, the water escaping its fur. The vampire complained as the water had landed all over his garments and hair. The wolf then continued to eat the fish that was in his mouth.
"Oh my, you stink of a wet dog" y/n scrunched her nose, disgusted. The wolf grunted at her, walking past her into the cave. y/n watched in bewilderment as he walked by, still not used to how tremendous wolves are, especially jeongguk. The vampire figured he was about to morph back into being human. A smile crept upon her face, remembering the scene that took place a couple of seconds ago.
y/n had sat down near the lake, gazing down at the water, peering at her reflection. Before noticing the fishes who had ran away from the wrath of the wolf, now swimming with their families. Their color a rich orange.
"since when were you up?" the wolf was now dressed up, in the only outfit choice he had, sitting next to the startled girl, as she was too entranced with watching the cold-blooded creatures swim. They had seemed as if they were moving in synchronization, catching her attention.
"I had been woken up from you playing in the water like a child," she snickered. To which the wolf ignored the last part of her sentence and nodded.
They both sat down next to each other in silence, enjoying each other's presence, watching the fish move gracefully in crystal clear water. The sun, shining down on the both of them, the sweat glistening on y/n's face and neck, yet she preferred not to move, relishing the few time she had with jeongguk before she had to go back to her territory.
The vampire and wolf had planned to leave before sundown since the other werewolves were awake at night, busy hunting for the pack. jeongguk had promised to walk down with y/n in case they ran into conflict.
