Alice and I had just arrived at her little brother's house.
And I know what you're thinking. 'Oh my god, why did I let Lux's over-enthusiastic sister drag me along with her'. Well, guess what? She literally dragged me. However, when it came down to it, she was my best friend, and I couldn't refuse her when she asked so politely, besides I really had no other plans for the week.
But the main reason for me travelling to another country was that I wanted to see her older brother Tim.
I had been in awe of him since we were kids. He was always so hardworking and determined and I admired him for such strengths. I looked up to him for years, especially since I was only the age of their youngest brother, Lux.
"Come inside, you'll catch a cold." Tim opened the door with his usual emotionless expression and guided us through to the living room.
I petted Pelutze, the biggest and fluffiest dog ever, in the hallway while Tim waited for me. He was just so cute!
Both the dog and Tim.
Pelutze lay back down and yawned, what a lazy dog, and I stood up and joined Tim in the doorway.
"Big sister!" Lux yelled, hugging Alice as she put her gifts down on the coffee table. "And [Y/N]!" He yelled, hugging me as I was still in the doorway. "I'm glad you made it, it's rather cold out."
"Nothing we're not used to brother." Alice laughed, handing her present to Lux. "Here, to say thank you for letting us stay the night!"
I smiled at them conversing with glee and turned to look and Tim who was standing right behind me.
"It's lovely to see you too Tim." I beamed.
"It's nice you see you also." He replied in that familiar monotonous voice.
"I'm glad of it." I giggled, giving him a one-sided hug.
Tim was extremely antisocial. He barely spoke a word to anyone other than his family and his closest friends. But he was always sweet on me for being his little sister's best friend, so he let me give him hugs and occasionally when I roasted Antonio enough, I could get a high five out of him.
"Hey, Tim?" I looked up at him, arms still wrapped around his waist.
"Um?" He replied, looking down at me.
"Can I visit you soon?" I could feel the slight brush of pink cross my cheeks at the very direct question, but I had decided to go for it this week.
I loved him, and I needed him to know.
"You know you're as welcome as family." He ruffled my hair and I let him go as he walked through to the kitchen.
Boy, that stung a little, but I took it with a grain of salt. I sat down next to Lux and he scooted up to me with a smirk plastered on his face.
"So, going all out are we?" He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close.
"Yes, but not with you Lux." I nervously chuckled, not able to pry his arms away.
"I know." He whispered. "I'm trying to help you."
"Lux." Tim almost growled from the kitchen. "Let her go."
"Why?" He smirked. "She's here to see me today, and I want to enjoy it."
Alice snickered as she watched the scene unfold. I gave her the look. You know the one. The help-me-or-I-tell-them-why-you're-really-here-too look. Lux was two seconds away from getting an elbow in the face.
