Finally get to the mix of things. I had my assistant schedule more clients for me while I was gone. She wanted me to call her just to go over some things before she went on home.

"So she confirmed with her name and number and you checked the number to make sure it's registered to her right?" I asked.
"Yes! I don't want what happened the last time with you know who's mom" she said.
"Girl don't even worry about her. She know better than to come up in my office again" I said.
"Well you have a good amount of clients this week. So we will be busy". I didn't care it paid the bills so work is work. Looking to my left I see Elijah in the kitchen on his phone with nothing but a towel on.
"Yeah that's not a problem" I said. Scrunching my face at Elijah he looked up from his phone. "Go put some clothes on" I whispered.
He titled his head. I know he didn't hear me. He continued to look at his phone. Shaking my head "listen let me call you back". Walking up to him "what are you doing?!".
"I'm on my phone" he sarcastically said.

"No shit... can you go out some clothes on" I said. He smirked "what? Don't want anyone else checking me out?".
"Elijah... never mind we have people in this house but you never know who might show up and here you are just giving them a show".
He pulled me closer to him "the show is only for you baby". Just then the doorbell rang. I smiled "go answer to mister I want to give everyone a show". He smacked my butt and walked in the opposite direction from the door.
Walking myself to the door since Elijah couldn't answer it. "Yes?".
"Sorry to bother you but are you Jaelynn?" The man asked.
"Who wants to know?" Raising my brow.
"Oh I'm so sorry. It's been a weird day. I'm detective Cruz. I'm sorry to tell you this but your mother was found murdered two days ago". I stood there just thinking of someone dropping a box of freshly made sweet donuts. I dropped my head and started to literally cry. Thank you, pregnancy hormones.
"I'm sorry! I know this must be hard for you" he said. Covering my mouth I turned away and grabbed a tissue. "I'm speechless. How?".
"Well she was strangled. But if you don't mind me asking. When was the last time you seen your mother?".
"Umm..." I made sure I sniffled. Wiping the fallen tears "I'm sorry this is just a lot to deal with at the moment". He frowned "I can imagine".
"The last time I saw her had to be many months ago. I've been so busy with work and my family I just haven't seen her. But I did speak to her a month ago on the phone. She seemed like herself".
He nodded "well thank you. And again, sorry for your loss" he gave me a small smile and walked back to his car. Closing the door I smiled. That was too easy. Who am I?.

ELIJAH POV
If Jaelynn thought I was going to answer the door in the towel she must be crazy. I took the other direction and went upstairs to get dressed. Making my way down to the studio where Renzo was lighting one up.
"And I thought you gave this up" I joked.
"Never, it helps me think" he said.
Clearing my throat and taking a seat. Just thinking about a whole lot of things "what's going on in that brain of yours?".
"Just thinking it's about time I propose to Jaelynn" I said. Renzo damn near dropped his blunt "damn man that's weird coming from you. Propose?".
I nodded "yeah, I know for sure I want to be with her for the rest of my life. And she gave me my daughter and about to give me twins. It's only right".
"True, damn man you about to make me tear up. You growing up. Before I know it you'll be married".
"Crazy right? I didn't see this coming my way two years ago. But I'm happy it did. I don't even know where I would be with her".
"Probably back with crazy ass Alexis. Who knows you would've had one kid by now. That household would be so unhealthy to be in".
"Nah, I don't think so. Me and Alexis? Nah" Renzo raised his brow "stop lying. She was always your go to girl when you were single. Luckily, you met Jaelynn right in time. I mean she's just as crazy but only because she protects what's hers".
"Well as for the proposal I'll need you and Jillian to help make this a surprise she'll never forget".
"I'm down but let's not surprise her to the point she goes into labor" he joked.
"Nah, but I want to include the closet people to her. And obviously us too. She deserves this to come out right". Renzo smiled "I'm happy for you!. I really am".
"Thanks, bro!" We dapped each other and Renzo went back to smoking his blunt with no care in the world. As for this surprise... i just have to plan this right and make sure we have no surprise guest. At least not the ones living.
