The video is of the choreography on the CD. Not how she actually looks.

Hoseok's POV

My curious eyes never left the large screen of the television, readjusting myself on the dusty couch as the purring and sleeping cat rested on my lap, my hand mindlessly petting down its head and back carefully. I treated it like it was Rose. God, it reminded me of Rose. I could tell Rose was close with her cat. The thought of Rose sleeping with her cat by her side made my heart warm. I was shocked.

The CD soon began to finally play. It was a competition. The announcer announced her presence with a lot of joy in his voice, as if he was her number one fan and waiting for her performance. Like he already knew she would win.

"Han Rose, 15 years old, from Busan, performing a solo performance of The Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy!" He exclaimed, a round of applause following as I watched her small frame enter the stage shyly. My heart ached in joy as I watched her shy smile stay until the applause died down. She stood in the middle of the stage, wearing an extravagant performance tutu, light pink in color with a bejeweled torso. Soon, she took her starting pose to quiet the audience, the music beginning.

Her toes pointed at what I saw as an impossible angle, her short legs straight and stiff as she took graceful steps around the stage. She had a never-ending smile, her movements seeming fluid and smooth. She made it look easy. The way she would leap and pose, jumping onto the painful foot position. I could glimpse at her mother and see the sickly pride in her tired eyes. My eyes quickly returned to the younger Rose. If this was a few years ago, I couldn't imagine how talented she has grown to become. She moved around the stage like an angel. The close-ups and the bright lights illuminating her features and shining white smile. It almost felt too much for me, beginning to feel tears in my eyes.

Pull yourself together, Hoseok. It's just a CD.

"My Rose learned this dance in just a month. She's very committed." Her mother finally spoke up coarsely, her tone cheerful through the deadly poison.

I couldn't help but wonder how much practice she had to go through to compete with such precision. My eyes fixed in a glare as I watched her mother from the corner of my eye before relaxing myself by watching Rose do her spins across the stage. It only reminded me of a human embodiment of the soft music that played behind her. I was surprised at how quiet her steps were when I listened. I could only hear very soft thumps every now and then over the very quiet music. Despite the strength, she stayed soft. I couldn't help but feel a little intimidated seeing that. She was both strong and silent. It made me rethink my illegal and immoral decision.

But of course, I wouldn't back off. Instead, my sly grin grew as I watched her pose, listening to the rising applause. I loved a challenge. And Han Rose would give me a challenge.

Rose's POV

I stared at Taehyung in silence from the top rim of my wide cup that held the second serving of green tea. The silence was very mutual, with just a lot of intense and awkward staring. The tension was thick enough to be cut with a knife. The only sound in the air was the noise of the coffee machines and rustling silverware behind the counter of the empty coffee shop. It was the only one in the area that was open 24/7. Who goes out for tea past midnight anyways?

It was now close to one in the morning. I was exhausted, my heavy eyelids noticeable as I stared at Taehyung. Even when I wasn't sipping, I didn't lower the cup as if it was a barrier that protected me from his suspicious activity. Suddenly, a smile was playing on his lips and I moved back on my stool in confusion, lowering my cup slowly to the table.

"You should head home, it's getting pretty late." He said, a hint of playfulness and slyness in his tone. It scared me, but anything was an excuse to leave at this point. I carefully hopped off of the tall stool, with him following. I glared at him from the corner of my eye and walked faster out the glass door. I didn't say a single word to him during the awkward walk. I held my bag close to my body as I took shaky but long steps down the dark sidewalk. It made me uneasy being alone with Taehyung so late in the night.

Taehyung's POV

I smirked to myself, pulling out my phone while mindlessly walking next to the frail girl beside me, that practically shook while walking with me at night. I had no intentions of anything other than messing up Hoseok's plans. Why not make him a little angry while I'm at it? As if I would do him a favor after he beat me up.

Taehyung: "What kind of man would I be if I didn't take a lady home? ;-)"

Hoseok: "What? You little-"

Hoseok's POV

I slammed my phone down after that, gaining her mother's attention. Even while focused on her daughter's dancing, she was shocked by the sudden noise. I quickly gave her a sweet smile to calm her from thinking I was crazy. I slowly lifted the sleeping cat from my lap, causing it to wake and scurry away from the small living room.

"I would love to watch more, but I have to go. Maybe we can talk later? Here I'll give you my number." I spoke rapidly, taking the old woman aback as I pulled a crumpled sticky note out of my bag, writing down my phone number sloppily. As I finished writing the last few digits, the doorbell suddenly rang. My eyes widened as I finished writing and passed the standing woman the note. She slid it into her apron before wobbling to the front door. I leaned over her to peak in the small hole and see what I was hoping not to see.

Rose was standing with her head down, her hand on her opposite arm, rubbing the milky skin as she waited for her mother to open the door impatiently. Taehyung was staring up into the hole, acknowledging my presence with a dark smirk on his face, slowly sliding his arm around Rose's shoulders. She tensed up suddenly but tried not to show too much of a reaction. But I noticed the way she tensed and goosebumps rose on her skin in fear. My fists clenched into balls, my nails digging into my heated skin.

I quickly ran to hide. I ran back to the living room, bending down behind a dusty, yet expensive armchair, pretending as if I was searching for something I lost so I wouldn't look suspicious but not in sight enough for Rose to see. Soon, I heard the door latch open and a few small footsteps enter inside, followed by a few larger ones. I cursed under my breath. Why would she let Taehyung in after what he did to Rose? I listened to the conversation that followed. It was muffled through the wall, but I could hear the chatter.

"Hi, mom. Sorry, I'm late, I was practicing." Rose's small and tired voice spoke up, a hint of a yawn at the end of her words.

"I know, sweetie. It's alright. I'm proud of you for practicing harder!" The old woman exclaimed cheerfully and bittersweetly. "Oh and Taehyung." She started. I smirked to myself. This is where he get's scolded and banned from the household permanently. Surely, her mother prefers me over a douchebag like him. "Thanks for taking my Rose home. It wouldn't be safe for her to walk alone at this time. Would you like to stay the night?" My eyes suddenly widened and my hand clawed at the fabric of the chair in pure rage.

"That would be great, Miss Han." He said in a sing-song tone. I could hear the mischevious grin on his face. He knew I could hear, he knew I was hiding. He wouldn't give me out, but he would make me suffer. He didn't know I would do much worse to him after this encounter. Rose didn't seem to protest, she was too busy leading up the staircase. Each one of her steps was soft but slow. She made a small groan of exhaustion. Soon, I heard heavier footsteps disappear and I sprung up from behind the chair. I stared up the now-clear staircase in shock and rage. My head jerked towards the woman that entered. She gave me a tired expression. I bowed my head before rushing out of the room and right out the front door, making it slam behind me. I ran about 20 meters away from the building before letting out a scream.
