I wasn't ready. I was not ready for this day to come. My heart sped up. As I stepped out of my white Range Rover, I took a deep breath as I looked at the front door to my high school, Boca Raton High. This was it. This was my senior year of high school. My last year ever being in this school.

"Kaylie, are you okay?" I heard Daisy chuckle from beside me. "It's the same school we've been in since freshman year."

"Yeah, but this is different. Now we are at the top of the class. We are in charge." I said still not moving from my spot.

"And that's a good thing, girl!" Daisy exclaimed, shaking my shoulders. "We need to embrace this moment."

I turned to look at my best friend who had a giant smile on her face. "I guess you're right." I sighed with a smile slowly appearing on my face.

"Of course, I'm right." She smirked. "Kaylie, we are seniors-hot seniors at that. Not to mention you have a boyfriend, a badass boyfriend to add. Plus, you're cheer captain."

"Wait, hold up," I began holding up a finger, "I'm not cheer captain yet. We still have last bit of try-outs before we make cuts then voting."

Cheerleading tryouts started over late summer, so we could get our new teammates used to what's about to happen this year.

Daisy and I began walking to the school and to our lockers. The good thing about our school is that we get to keep our lockers from the previous year if we liked the location or we could change it. Since Daisy and I have most of our classes on the third floor, we decided to change our lockers to the third floor.

Making our way up the stairs, we talked about summer and our plans for the school year. You would've thought Daisy and I haven't spoken to each other in forever, which is what it felt like. Since Daisy spent majority of her summer visiting family and traveling, we barely got to talk, or face time one another. Even though she's done this every summer since I've known her, it's still hard.

By the time we made it to our lockers, both of us were nearly out of breath, but gathered our things for class. For me, I gathered things for my pre-calculus class and my English Literature class. I put them in my bag and waited for Daisy as she fixed her makeup and made sure each curl was in the right place.

"So, how's the boyfriend?" Daisy asked, and my heart dropped to my ass.

"Well, um," I began, and Daisy stopped what she was doing to look at me with a questioning look.

"Go on," She said waiting for me to explain.

"Well, about a week ago, I snuck him in and we made out and stuff,"

"Did you and Winston have sex?" Daisy whispered shocked, but I quickly shut her down.

"No, no, nothing like that. He left before we could."

"Um, why?"

"He told me he loved me, then once he realized what came out of his mouth, he left."

"Wait, so, Winston told you he loved you, then just left?"

"Yup." I sighed and rested my back against the locker with my head looking up at the ceiling.

"Have you tried talking to him?"

"Of course, I have; he just keeps ignoring me. I even went to his favorite spot on the beach and he wasn't there which was weird." I sighed once again. I knew that coming out of Winston's mouth was something big. Although I didn't love him back just yet, he needs to know how I feel about him.
