And then finally she closed her eyes in anticipation. She wished to experience the kiss, her first kiss. But instead of the feel of his lips on hers, it was the sound of a familiar ringing tune that had had her open her eyes in disappointment. Dejavu!
Damn it! For hell's sake if it's Aman!
Arnav took a step back to get his phone out of the pocket. Guess who? He sighed in frustration and attended the call.
Arnav - Do you have cameras installed in my room?
Aman - What?
The poor man could not help his bafflement. But Arnav mentally smacked himself. He very well knew Aman wouldn't call if it wasn't something serious.
Arnav - Forget it. What you called for?
And as he talked to Aman over the phone, his girlfriend realized the situation they were in and used the opportunity to escape.
It irked him for sure that they couldn't complete the kiss but he didn't stop her when she fled the room. He thought if she really wanted the kiss, she would have waited.

Khushi walked down the corridor in baby steps. Her mind was occupied with analysis of the recent happening. She pondered about the missed kiss.
She couldn't lie to herself, she had been ready, she had wanted to kiss him. Once again. But would it have been appropriate? What if he doesn't stop at a kiss? Her ethics don't allow that. And she doesn't trust herself anymore. She would totally give in. The two incidents proved how less of authority she had on her feelings and how she tended to forget her principles when it came to his proximity.
It was like a spell. She couldn't oppose it even if she wanted to. The sweet taste of this relationship she willingly entered was trapping her into some kind of web where she has no control over her mind and body anymore. She feared doing something her God and morals didn't allow.
She reached the hall absentmindedly and collided against a person she wasn't expecting to see, rather she didn't want to see.
Shyam - Khushiji
She looked up at him almost horrified and stepped back immediately creating a distance big enough for a mass to pass through.
Unfortunately it wasn't mutual. He stalked her with his typical fake smile. He had seen her come out of Arnav's room. That was nothing he could smile at. He was burning inside, could not stand even the idea of her and Arnav in love.
Shyam - You seem lost. Are you alright?
She looked around in search of living souls, only to realize she was completely alone with him in the house. And even the imagination was cringy.
Khushi - Leave my way Shyamji.
She didn't care to answer his question. He was nobody to her. And she didn't feel obliged to reply to him in any sense.
Shyam - Happy Holi Khushiji.
Trust Shyam to ignore the situation and Khushi's request cum demands. It was as if he didn't even hear her and stretched his arm to paint her face with red color. She frowned and looked at his hand. She moved back passing him a disgusted look and opened her mouth to say something. But it was Arnav's voice that interrupted the ugly moment.
Arnav - Khushi
She turned to catch a glimpse of him as he strode downstairs. Shyam's arm fell down in a second. But he didn't move from the place, not wanting to leave these two alone.
So as Arnav reached the hall and now stood beside Khushi, facing him sternly, Shyam felt uncomfortable under his glare. He got an urge to explain his presence as Arnav's doubtful eyes stayed put on him.
