“Checkmate!” Raine yelled, triggering a groan from Sammie who put his head on the table in defeat. “How do you always win?” He asked. “Get some skill, dude!” Raine laughed. I appreciate how they always then fun and laughter in doing simple things like Chess.

“Guys! Put that away! Eris will be here soon, you can't be slacking off!” Astrid scolded, hands on her hips in a serious manner. We're all aware no one takes her scolding that seriously. “Yes Astrid.” Sammie and Raine said in unison, smiling like idiots as Sammie packed up the game and shoved it into his bag.

We're all gathered up in a fancy hotel waiting for Eris, ever since I joined them those hundreads of years ago, we've been going on quest after quest, so it was never that odd when Eris asked us to help out on something. Today she had sent us a message telling us she needed our help once again. So here we are.

“What do you think we’re going to have to do?” Indigo asked, today she was wearing a purple overall dress and black and white striped shirt, very feminine.

“Who knows.” I shrugged. “Probably something like fighting in another war or recovering an artifact.” Raine  guessed. Everyone else shrugged, whoever knows with Eris. She can give us the craziest tasks.

Then, as if on cue, a blinding light shone and crack of a sound similar to a canon echoed through the room. We were all used to the noise and the appearance of Eris standing amidst a white fog. Raine stood up and we all looked at the black haired goddess.

“Good afternoon, Children.” She said. No matter what, she always referred to us as ‘Children’ which we had no say in. I mean, who wants to argue about something like that with the GODDESS of DISCORD? Not any of us.

“I see you're all here and gathered, awaiting your mission.” Eris said, examining us all with a warm smile on her face. We all looked the same as always. We never age so the only difference is usually our clothing which we don't even need much as, never aging means never growing, so something from 500 years ago still fits. Heck, I've been wearing the same camo and denim jacket with a busted zipper for a few years.

“What do you need from us?” Astrid asked. She was so confident and strong, it's no wonder why she was in charge. She respected Eris more than she respected any other god, I mean if my father never claimed me or reached out to me, I'd probably be mad at the gods too.

“The original world. Where you all came from. I need you back there to help protect the mortals and demigods.” She said.
Everyone exchanged glances. We all detested that world, everytime we went there we only stayed for a short time and we never crossed paths with other Demigods. Now she wanted us to go protect them?

“Demigods?” Raine asked, raising an eyebrow. “Yes. A new threat has been rising. I don't know the details but they have been preparing for your arrival for a while now. I'm sure you’ll all be fine there.” She said.

“They?” Astrid asked cautiously. “The Greek Demigods. At… Camp Half-Blood.” Eris said, smiling gently. A guilty smile.

“Oh heck No!” Indigo said, standing up and shaking her head. “I am not going back there! Everyone thinks i'm dead, I left for a REASON!”

“Ditto.” I said crossing my arms. "Do you know what a disaster that will be?"
Look, I like Eris. She's a cool god, I'd consider her one of my favorites (Hades and Hestia first of course) but her asking this from us? No way. I was not going back to confront the people I know. Or people that knew them.

“Wouldn't they all be dead by now?” Sammie asked. Indigo and i made eye contact.

I'm such an idiot. Of course they'd all be dead.
