Alex's POV

I woke up in the morning and realized Alix wasn't here. I know we fell asleep on my bed. She was right next to me last time I checked.

My heart began to race.

'Don't sweat it Alex. She's probably totally fine. Just calm down.'

I took a deep breath and my heart rate began slowing down. I looked down at my chest and for some odd reason it was bare. I was most likely uncomfortable and peeled my shirt off in my sleep like I normally do.

I got out from under my sheets and took my shorts off and jumped into a quick shower. I was out in 5 minutes flat.

I pulled on a pair of red Nike basketball shorts and a white Nike shirt that on the front said:

'IF THATS YOUR "A" GAME'

And on the back said:

'THEN I HOPE YOU BROUGHT THE REST OF THE ALPHABET'

I giggled at myself in the mirror before putting my black socks with my new black Jordan's on my feet.

I walked downstairs shaking my hair furiously, trying to get all the loose droplets out. I ran my hand through it while I grabbed a bowl out of the cabinet and spoon out the drawer. Along with the box of frosted flakes (Mmm my favorite) and the gallon of milk. I made myself a bowl and began scooping spoonfuls into my mouth. I was reading the back of the box for the thousandth time when I looked down and there were no more flakes floating in my bowl.

I got up and placed my bowl and spoon into the sink after drinking my milk when I noticed it.

The note.

It read:

'Hey Alex! Or should I say big bro? Well I'm heading to the basketball courts at the gym. I really need to just blow off some steam after everything that went down. When you get up, if you want to you can come meet me here.

Love ya bro,

Alix

P.S. I have a pair of your shorts and a T-shirt. And your ball and gym shoes just saying.'

I smiled when she called me her bro. It was sweet. Since she already had my court shoes and my ball I decided to walk there.

I grabbed the note and stepped out of my front door and began my trek down the road on this beautiful 8th of September. The wind had a gentle breeze to it and the leaves were just beginning to change color. It was beautiful.

Yes guys do call things other than girls beautiful for those of you who were wondering.

I was almost there and I had the note gripped firmly in my hand when I saw her.

Alix.

She attempted to wave at me but her arm fell limp.

That's when I saw the blood trickling down her leg.

At first I thought it was just a really bad monthly package but she was pale.
