"WE ALL GRIEVE. IT'S HUMAN NATURE. WE MOURN, WE CRY, BUT THEN WE MOVE ON. BUT SOMETIMES, WE DON'T AND THAT'S OKAY, BECAUSE IN THE END, SOME PEOPLE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THEN WE REALIZE."

Wedding photos were spread across the Avery's dining room table. His ring was clamped against his finger, which was resting on his forehead as he sobbed into his hands.
Abigail was fast asleep while Jackson mourned over the loss of his wife, Jamie.
It had been nearly a year since the accident and nothing felt the same. Rooms were dimmer and smiles weren't shared. Jackson's heart was shattered on the floor as if it were some type of vase. Abigail didn't realize her mother was gone until the day of her funeral, reality slapping the young girl like a train.
"Jackson." A small voice whispered, breaking the man out of his trance. "Jackson."
Wiping his eyes, Jackson Avery turns around to meet the eyes of Meredith Grey, his heart breaking at the sight of her too.
"Mer.." he mumbles, shaking his head as the woman rushes over to him, holding him tightly as he cried into her shirt.
"She's okay, Jackson, she's okay now." Meredith comforts, rubbing her best friend's back. "She's with Derek now."
"I want her with me." Jackson cries, shaking his head. "Abigail needs her mother, Meredith."
"Listen to me, Jackson." Meredith tells him, holding his shoulders. "Abigail is strong, she will be okay. I promise you."
"How are you so sure about that, Meredith? She cries almost everyday for her mother, how do you know she will be okay?"
"Cause she's an Avery." A voice says behind them, making Jackson turn. "Jackson, you promised you would call me when you had nights like this."
"Ella, please leave-"
"Cause you don't want me to see you like this, I know, you always freaking say that." Ella replies, walking over to the two and sighs. "But I've been through this, and Meredith has been through this, we both understand what it's like to lose someone you love. Especially the love of your life."
"Ella, please-"
"No, Jackson, I'm not going to leave you. Not when you need me the most." Was all that she responded, looking up at Meredith who nods her head, letting Ella embrace Jackson. He pulls her closer to him as he cries. "It's okay, you're going to be okay."
"Ella, will you stay with me and daddy?" Abigail murmurs as she walks out of her bedroom, wiping her sleepy eyes. "I like it when you're here."
Ella looks at the young girl, before looking at Jackson who gives her a small smile. "Stay, Ella, stay."
She nods her head, continuing the look at Jackson who gives her a genuine smile, pulling her into another hug, just as Abigail runs over and joins them.
Little did they know that Jamie Bay smiled down upon them, happy with the fact that Ella Moore made her family complete again.
