Word from the Author

I began writing this book in the early spring of 2017, and it was a way of escape for me whenever I was feeling down and discouraged by the real life events that helped shape this story into reality. I truly believe that God blessed me with this creative brain and heart to put every single detail in these pages for his glory, not for my own personal gain. All that I have kept to myself during those hard and stressful months in prayer and isolation will be shared with anyone who reads this novel and see that I am not a perfect person at all. God did not make me a perfect man at all but he did put me here on this earth and in this specific city to help others who do not see a ray of hope in their lives. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior back in May of 2013 as a junior in high school, and even up to this point in my walk it was a bumpy road. Nobody said that following Jesus was going to be easy. Each and every single day is a different battle, a different struggle to get closer to God and be in his word. There isn't a day that goes by when I think of how much I could've done to share Jesus with friends or family, I always have something on my heart and mind. In today's world where the Gospel is being ridiculed as a book of fiction and contradictions, and where Christians are being viewed as hypocrites and judgers due to our belief in a God that no one can see, especially in my hometown of Camden, people are losing hope and faith when fear, doubt, anger, and division comes knocking at the door. Young men like myself are going through tough times at home, or in school, their jobs places because this world has given them a false image of what a man truly is. Many grew up without their fathers or mothers, come from dysfunctional families, grew up poor, whatever the case may be, but there is hope in the midst of chaos and trials. The love of Jesus had transformed my mind and my viewpoint on many different things and proved to me that if God can change a person like myself, he can definitely change someone like you and use you to tell the world how great God is and how he made you into a new and wonderful creation.

This story is based on my testimony as a young man, things that have occurred in my early life and from 2016 to the first four to five months of 2017 while fictional events in the background are being played out as the story progresses. There are many people that I have written in this book that played a significant role in every area of my life during a very hard time of doubt and failure but their names have been substituted or altered for personal protection and not to be shamed at all. I have nothing to fear at all and I have nothing to hide when it came down to putting the exact words onto these pages. I pray that whoever reads this will have the same sense of hope and peace that God has blessed me with, and that whatever you are going through at this time that there is a God who loves you unconditionally beyond what the human mind can explain and that you are a victorious warrior.
