Chapter 10: A victim

They got inside of Liz's car and some of them had to sit on the floor due to the limited space on the van, meanwhile Liz was on the passenger seat as Stella was driving this time, the ride was going to be bumpy.  " Everyone relax, let the time pass, I know it will be uncomfortable. " Liz warned them and everyone sighed. " So.... our plan is to go to the lab where the zombies were created and attack Seth Carter? " Angela asked and Stella nodded looking at the rear mirror. " There is no proof that he did it though, we are falsely accusing him. " Angela said and Adrianne blew a hair strand out of her left eye.

" Angie, we decided as a group to do that and I trust my brother on this. " She said and Angela stared at her. " What if your brother is wrong and we kill an innocent man instead? " Angela asked and Veronica gave her a narrow look. " Hun if he's dead, he's dead. We don't have to feel guilty about it, we don't know this dude. " She stated and everyone nodded, Angela got silent. " Shit, we have a little problem guys ! " Stella yelled and hit the vehicle horn. " What is it? " Isaac asked and Liz pointed. There was zombies blocking the way and coming toward the van.  " Oh hell no! ". Veronica opened the back and started hitting the zombies with the metal staff. " Veronica! " Adrianne went with her and started shooting the zombies. They all got out of the van and started battling them. Angela shot an arrow to a zombie's head and she succeed taking him down. Isaac took out his vector and started shooting at the zombies with such force.

Some of the zombies were strong and ran to the huge hill while being chased. " Adrianne!!!! " Isaac yelled and she kept running further. She looked back for a second and noticed the zombies kept going after her. Adrianne didn't notice the log and tripped, she rolled down and became unconscious. A random guy catches her, he noticed she was profusely bleeding  on her forehead. A growl was heard behind him, he looked back and noticed the zombies coming after him. " Crap, not now. " He said and immediately took the gun from her. He pulled the trigger but nothing occurred, it was just a click.  " Why me?! " He held her tightly  close to him and sprinted. The guy noticed a stick near him and knocked some of the zombies out with it. He kept going further, jumping over logs and sliding across rocks while carrying Adrianne . He noticed a river and stopped. She woke up and jumped out. " Who the hell are you?! " She pat her pocket for her gun but it wasn't there. " And where the hell is my gun?!" Adrianne looked around.

" Hey, relax Im just trying to help you alright, im not the enemy here. " He said and gave her the gun, she eased a little. " Yeah, I guess you are not... " She looked back and saw the zombies coming by. "I don't have enough time, I gotta go but listen if you wanna find a safe place, look for we who live! " Adrianne smiled and ran off, on her way back she took a stick to hit the zombies. She got back to the group and Veronica yanked Adrianne by the arm. " We gotta go!" Veronica yelled and they jumped into the van, Stella started driving fast. " Not so fast, not so fast, you're going to make us crash!! " Liz yelled from the passenger seat. She drove slower and on their way, Stella saw Walmart " A quick stop." and everyone groaned. " you guys are coming with me, for safety reasons! "

They all got inside of Walmart, it was empty and dark. " Why is it dark? " Amie asked and Isaac carried her. " I don't know Ames, but it's okay I got you. " He replied. They all decided to put the flashlight of their  phones " So, why are we here exactly? " Adrianne asked and Veronica took a pack of gums from the register. " Hey, I saw that Vero! " Zoe yelled at Veronica and she scoffed. " Is gum, you say it like is a crime. " She replied and started chewing a gum. " You want a piece? Is strawberry and lime flavored" She looked at Zoe and Zoe shook her head. " I don't want to be part of your little crime, Veronica and that's gross. " Veronica rolled her eyes while chewing the gum. " Since your gun doesn't have bullets, it gave me an idea to stock up on more for backup. " Stella said to Adrianne.

" Oh, okay. " She shrugged and kept walking, Zoe wandered around the aisles with the flashlight on, humming an unrecognizable tune, She went to the books aisle. Out of nowhere, music was playing and Stella took out her snipper. " What the hell guys?! " She yelled and everyone raised their hands as innocent. That's the way ( I like it ) by KC and the sunshine band. "Who put the song?" Adrianne asked moving to the beat. Amie was giggling while moving  to the beat and Isaac smiled, he spun her around. " Oh this is my jam! " Veronica started to dance, Liz danced with Veronica and Stella rolled her eyes. " Wait... where is Zoe? " Angela asked and everyone stopped what they were doing. A low grunt was heard, " Um guys... " Adrianne was interrupted by the zombie, crawling to them.

Liz hit the zombie with her bat and his head flew off, she noticed more were coming. " Shit, Stella get the bullets FAST! " She yelled and Veronica helped her with the zombies. " Alright! " Stella yelled back and Adrianne with Isaac started looking for Zoe. They were shouting out her name while looking at the aisles. They found her in the middle aisle and she looked up confused, " What's all the hollering for? " Zoe asked and out of nowhere a zombie ran towards Zoe. " ZOE!! " Adrianne yelled and Isaac tried to aim at the zombie but it was too late. The zombie bit her shoulder and Isaac shot the zombie before it went any further. Zoe's eyes went blank and she fell on the floor, " No, no, no this can't be happening! HELP STELLA! " Adrianne yelled as she held Zoe tightly. " I'm so sorry Adri, I'm so sorry, I couldn't save her in time." He whispered and Adrianne teared up. Everyone came running toward them, Veronica gasped. " He tried to shoot the zombie but it was too late.... " Adrianne whispered looking down at Zoe tearing up. " What.. what are we gonna do now? " Liz asked and they all looked at Zoe. Things aren't going as planned...
