I groaned and turned away from the window as sunlight streamed in. "Wake up, Asuka. I've already prepared breakfast," said a familiar feminine voice.
"Shut up, Erina," I grumbled, "It's too early to get out of bed." I pulled my blanket over my head and hoped she would leave my room.
Erina scoffed and pulled off my blanket. "You think 8:20 is early for today?!" She questioned, "Today is the first day of school!"
I shot up from my bed and fell to floor, knocking down my bedside table and knife case. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER!?" I complained as I stood up and ran to the bathroom. Grabbing my hairbrush, I combed my short, blond locks and quickly brushed my teeth.
"I thought you had an alarm clock," Erina replied smugly. It felt as if she knew something I didn't, and I don't like that.
I ran to my closet and looked at my uniform. It consisted of a bronze-gold skirt and a white undershirt with a suited blue coat. I shoved it aside and grabbed my black quarter sleeve and gray travel pants. If you haven't noticed already, I'm an anti-skirt and dress person.
Erina frowned at my choice of clothing. "If you're the -10th seat of E.C.H.O, shouldn't you be following the rules? Put on that uniform." She ordered. If she wasn't such a perfect child, we wouldn't have this problem. She's been a pain in the ass for five years straight, and I still haven't gotten used to her perfectionists personality.
I rolled my hazel eyes and looked at her straight in the eye. "If you're the 10th seat of the Council of Ten, you of all people shouldn't tell me what to do!" I ran over to my bed and slipped on my black combat boots. Picking up my knife case, I followed Erina out of my room and into the dinning hall.
I picked up a blueberry muffin and took a huge bite. Looking at the clock, I noticed I only had five minutes left. It wouldn't be enough time for me to run all the way to the ceremony. Scarfing down the rest, I ran out of the building and looked around.
To my left, students were entering a courtyard and standing around. To my right, more students were coming from the gate. Erina was snickering behind me, clearly overjoyed she kept the fact that my personal mansion was right next to the event.
"Erina, you bitch," I grumbled. She burst out laughing and clutched her stomach. Students stopped and stared at Erina.
"You really are forgetful in the morning," she said as she wiped away a tear of amusement. I puffed up my right cheek and jabbed her side. She yelped in surprise and swatted my hand away. We glared at each other, arms crossed and electricity cackling.
"Aaaaannnddd THAT'S enough," said Alice as she popped out of nowhere and broke our line of eye contact. "Two minutes left, you lazy sisters~"
"WE AREN'T SISTERS."
Alice waved her hand and walked towards the event. Looking at Erina, I blew a raspberry at her and ran towards the ceremony. I walked towards the stage and disappeared behind the curtains. "Greetings!" I announced.
"Yo," said a red-haired boy with yellow eyes. I stared at him. He looked very familiar with that scar on his eyebrow and goofy grin plastered on his face. I smiled at him.
"Why are you back here?" I asked while taking a seat next to him.
"I transfered here," he replied, his eyes meeting mine, "I'm surprised I got in." I grinned like an idiot.
"I'm surprised you did, too," I replied, "You don't look like the type to get through Erina." We chatted through most of the ceremony happily. I felt as if I was reunited with a lost half of my soul. Who would've thought it was the truth.
