Souma found me outside the arena. I was still trying to calm down after my little breakdown from Erina. I sighed and slapped myself before turning to look at my brother. "What's up?" I asked him, my voice still on edge.
He stared at me for a bit with his arms crossed. "Are you okay? That smile you gave me was so forced it was painful." I shrugged and looked at my nails.
"I'm fine," I mumbled, "I just need to be alone for a bit."
He squinted his eyes. "Yeah, no. That's not happening. We're having a sleepover."
I laughed at him, "Yeah, yeah, nope. That's not happening. We are not having a sleepover."
He pointed at me, looking childish despite knowing I was in a bad mood. "It's decided. Something is super fishy. You love sleepovers." I facepalmed as he started to drag me to his dorm.
I pulled my arm free. "Sorry, Souma. I really need some time to think," I explained while walking to my motorcycle. "Besides, you have your own business." I gestured to his team in the Shokugeki, standing behind him awkwardly and waiting to join in the conversation.
While he was distracted, I hopped onto my motorcycle and drove away. I stopped at Erina's home and waited at the gate. I needed to get back my belongings as soon as I could so that I wouldn't have to deal with her for the week. It took a while for her black limo to pull up at the mansion. "Asuka," she greeted curtly as she rolled down the window.
"I want my stuff back," I said with a strained smile. She seemed nervous as she looked at me. Was my anger that obvious? I sighed and let my smile fall. "Give my stuff back."
She glared at me and climbed out of the car. "Fine. Follow me."
I followed her to her room and waited at the door frame while she gathered everything she's "borrowed". I was already growing impatient waiting there.
"I'll be quick about," she said as she stuffed some clothes into a bag.
I glared at her. "Huh?" I hummed.
She didn't look at me as she continued. "You're scary when you're mad," she explained as she carefully put some perfume bottles in a container, "So I'll be as quick as I can."
I chuckled. "You know it's your fault I'm mad at least %99.9 of the time, right?" I winced when I heard the hostility in my voice. Was I really that scary? I thought it wasn't that bad, but everyone says otherwise. "I can't be that scary, right?" I mumbled to myself.
Erina handed me three bags full of my belongings. "So that's where most of my socks went!" I exclaimed as I inspected them. I took my bags and Erina escorted me out of her home.
"Alright, thanks," I said, a little bit calmer after waiting for so long, "And stop stealing my socks."
Then I left.

"I'm here," I manage to yawn out as I joined the Headmaster at the parking lot. Over the week, I've isolated myself from nearly everyone to brood and be edgy. I still did my duties as seat 10 of E.C.H.O like filling out paperwork I never finished and stuff like that, but I was still alone for the most part. Now I was going on a trip with the rest of E.C.H.O. in place of the hellish week that was the friendship camp.
I've also basically gotten over my anger at Erina after realising how much of a drama queen I was being. But, she doesn't know, so she's been extremely silent whenever I'm around. I think she'll find out soon enough, but it's amusing to see her so wary. She's usually nagging me about stuff, so this is a pleasant change.
"You're late, Yukihira-san," said Hashimoto. I shrugged at her and looked at my watch.
"Only by three minutes," I mumbled, still tired," It takes a long time to walk when you're tired, you know?"
Miyuki slumped on my shoulder. "Thank you for pulling all the jokes for me," she mumbled.
"I never said I would," I muttered back. Hashimoto raised an eyebrow at our sleepy states and rolled her eyes. She climbed into the bus, ignoring our antics. I grinned a sleepy grin and turned to the Headmaster.
"So," I started, "We're going to New York, yes?"
He nodded and gestured to the bus. "Our flight is 3 hours from now, so you should prepare for the long ride, " he says. I thank him and clamber into the bus.
Our bus was the first to depart from the parking lot. Students were still boarding their own buses, and I could spot Souma's bright red hair yeeting itself around like a wig being thrown. I threw him a concerned stare, but, as expected, he didn't notice. I sigh and slump against the window, my forehead thumping against the glass whenever the bus turned or went over a bump.
Miyuki glances at me. "So," she starts, "When are you gonna apologize to Erina- or, maybe, tell her you aren't mad?" She pauses and mulls over her words a bit before correcting herself.
I shrug. "I don't know," I reply, "Maybe when I'm in the correct mood. I don't want to tell her things are safe and then descend into a state of madness the moment things go back to normal." She throws me this You've-thought-about-this-a-lot look and turns away.
"You semi-know," she hums, and I nod.
Somewhere along the ride, I decide that sleep is for losers and practise my English with Miyuki and Kagami. Turns out we all suck at it at varying degrees. Miyuki was the best at it, but Kagami and I had to pause multiple times and pull out google translate just to keep up a conversation. I groan and place my face in my hands.
"New York is gonna suck," I whine while drawing out my words.
Miyuki waves her hands. "It'll be fine. You can stay in Chinatown and never have to speak English."
"But then it'd be Chinese or Cantonese, and I don't know any of that!"
Kagami turns to Akio and slaps his arm. "How do you introduce yourself in Chinese?"
"你很笨," he replies.
Kagami stutters over her words as she tries to sound it out. "Nǐ... hěn... bèn?" She struggles to say. Akio breaks down in laughter.
"Yeah, totally."
"Do I put the name at the end?"
"Y-yeah," Akio manages to wheeze out.
I grimace and turn away. Akio was totally messing with her. I could only pray she didn't say that in Chinatown.
AUTHORS NOTE
Surprise! I'm not dead. I know, shocking.
Recently, this story has been bothering me. I started it but never finished it. And I do like it, don't get me wrong. But the passion for Shokugeki no Soma died long ago. However, I'm still gonna continue this (very slowly, might I add). I'm sorry, but I'll try to put more effort into this so that it doesn't end abruptly.
So, while I still have some inspiration, I'm gonna push through and work on more chapters!
