(F/n), (M/n) and along with Wakaba Isshiki was among the few cognitive researchers focusing on supernatural phenomena about the metaverse and cognitive world. (F/n) often worked quite closely with Wakaba and eventually became good friends with Sojiro. Though she knew she had a shoulder to lean on if she needed to. The two formed a strong sibling type bond. (Y/n)'s son (Y/n) and Wakaba's daughter (Futaba) often looked after each other in the absence of their parents.
Overtime Futaba looked towards (Y/n) as a older brother figure. He looked up to (Y/n) as her source of inspiration and (Y/n) encouraged her talent in computer systems.
(Y/n) was aware of the existence of the Metaverse through his parents and the stories they told them every night. They often joked around how the shadows would get to him. He knew they loved him and so did he. He kept his relationship between his parents warm and harmonious.
After their research was successful, Shido sent Goro Akechi after both families and not long after Wakaba. (M/n) and (F/n) suffered psychotic breakdowns driving themselves to commit suicide. To 15 year old (Y/n) and Young Futaba it just looked like a normal suicide, orphaning them both. Futaba and (Y/n) went separate ways.
Futaba was adopted by Sojiro Sakura and (Y/n) was taken in by (F/n)'s older sister and felt a lack of love from her. (Y/n) feeling abandoned got involved with some questionable friends that were involved with Kaneshiro and skipped most of his classes at Shujin Academy. Not liked the teachers cared, he had flawless grades. Eventually rumours spread amongst Shujin's students that (Y/n) was a delinquent and part of a mafia group.
He refused to show up to most his classes at Shujin Academy, and would spend that remainder time with the company of Kaneshiro or his men.
However at his third year at Shujin Academy he ended up in the same class as Student Council President Makoto Niijima. Normally under normal circumstances the two wouldn't hold even a slight conversation. But that changed when Makoto becomes aware of his frequent absence from class.
**Flashback**
(Y/n) is roaming around Shibuya Central Street with Kaneshiro's gang trying to pick up girls. He had two pretty girls trapped between him and the brick wall behind the two girls.
(Y/n): Say girls, you look really pretty... (he smiles at him with the girls in a blushing mess) Ever wanted to be models?
Female student: I wanted to... b-but my parents were against it...
Female student 2: I-I haven't...
(Y/n): Well...girls! It's your lucky day...
Female Student 2: Hey...I didn't mean to ask but that girl over there...?
(Y/n): What girl?! (He looks behind him)
The female student points to a girl in Shujin Uniform that's holding a jump comic to her face staring intensely at it.
Female student 1: She's been following you around since we all got off school...
(Y/n): Is that so!? Well, then girls would you excuse me for a sec?
He walks off to the girl still staring intensely at the jump comic. (Y/n) lightly grabs the book out of her hands.
(Y/n): What are you doing? Makoto...
Makoto: (Y/n) W-what a coincidence!
(Y/n): Did principle Kobayakawa send you again?
Makoto:...No, I came here on my own accord. (She sighs) please just go to your classes.
(Y/n): I'm not going...
Makoto: I don't want you to end up like them!
(Y/n) ignores her and walks away.
