Chapter 10
“Well this seems to be getting worse,” Dmitri sighed as he ran a hand over his face. “Three deaths in one day, what can we do to resolve this?”
“There must be something we could do, even though Sam’s the one doing this she’s still Sam so maybe there…”
“Oh please tell me you are not going to say hope.” Mary came into the room cutting off Nichole. “That’s a load of crap and you know it.”
“And you have a right to say this because?”
She opened her mouth to speak but Dmitri cut her off not caring about the evil look that she gave them. “What about Alison’s body? I’m going to guess that you weren’t able to bring her back.”
Daniel shook his head. “No, Jacob and I were able to cover up her body but it was getting too dark to bring her here but we did take her body to where the Wolf’s Ward’s tomb.”
Dmitri tensed, eyes snapping to him looking angry at what he just said. “Did you put her inside the tomb?”
Daniel nodded, not noticing the look. “It was the only place that we could think of at the time that wouldn’t attract wild animals to eat her.”
His breathing slightly changed to short breaths; before he took one single deep breath held it for a moment then let it go. “I see, well when the sun comes out we should go and get her, I don’t think the Black Wolf would appreciate the fact that the Wolf’s Ward’s final resting place smells like blood.
“What will it matter?” Mary asked folding her arms over her chest. “Her body has already rotted away to nothing so the place smelling like another body won’t do anything to it, it’s just a building.”
Without a word of warning Dmitri slapped her across the face, rage filled his eyes. “Don’t badmouth the dead, woman, there spirits could curse you, but then again…” he gave a cold half smile. “You already are.”
Dead silence enveloped the room.
“Dmitri’s right.” Jeannine said looking to Mary with eyes that held a mix of sadness and anger. “When we were in high school I always thought that you were a really good person, even more so when you were teaching those kids, the children loved you, hell even the parents thought you were great. But ever since we came here you’ve changed, and I mean the type that’s far away from the good type of change. Since the deaths you’ve become a real bitch Mary, you’ve said things that weren’t even true, like the fact that you lied to Dmitri I was conspiring with Mark to steal the seventh book that Sam had found, and about her ears. I knew since I saw her photos when she was four, and let me tell you one thing,” she folded her arms across her chest and stated full heartedly. “Her ears are not deformed, they looked awesome, even with that new hairstyle she had. And on another note, after realizing that you’ve been like this from the beginning I can honestly say I’m not surprised that your husband left you for another woman, I’m actually surprised that he didn’t leave you sooner.”
By the time she was done Mary had become red in the face, then she suddenly added.
“Oh and I’m just going to say this for the sake of the rest of the family that’s here, the note she has in her hand isn’t the one naming who the next Head will be.
They all turned to look at her with wide eyes, the fact that Jeannine just said that Mary had done something that would be considered…
