Blinking against the sunlight that had woken me up from my deep slumber, I tried to figure out where I was. Hazy memories returned after a minute; enough to time to make me realise where I was.

Suddenly, completely awake, I stared at the desk with wide eyes. I figured that I had fallen out of the bed at some point. Instead of crashing into the carpet, I had landed on the futon.

What had happened after that was mere speculation on my part, but I had ended up under the blanket as well. Kaname's arm rested heavy on my side, his hand against the flat of my stomach. He pressed me against his chest like I was a human seized plushy.

I didn't even dare to sigh, scared that I would wake Kaname up -or even worse: reveal that I was awake.

His slow breathing was hot in my neck, the steady rhythm indicating that he was still asleep.

The legs of the pyjama bottom I was wearing was twisted around my legs, almost cutting off the blood flow. The oversized pyjama bottoms rode low on my hips. I focussed on the uncomfortable way the fabric cut in my skin when Kaname's hand twitched, an unconscious movement that made the air in my lungs disappear in a rush.

His fingers trailed half an inch over my skin, his pink and ring finger brushing against my panties.

A soft and undignified squeal left my throat, embarrassment colouring my cheeks right after the sound.

Kaname stirred behind me, the hand tensing against my belly, as he started to wake up.

My breathing stalled as I waited until Kaname would react, waiting for him to do something about our current position.

"Did you fall?" he asked me, his voice hoarse from sleep.

"I-I think," I stammered, more conscious of his hand than ever.

"Is there--? Oh." Slowly, Kaname pulled his arm back, his fingers tracing over my skin.

Shivering under the touch, nerves crackling with electricity, I lay helplessly on the futon.

"Did you sleep well?" he asked me, stretching languidly.

"I did," I answered, surprised to find that I was speaking the truth. As soon as I had closed my eyes, I had fallen asleep. To what degree that had to do with Kaname's presence, I didn't know -didn't even want to know.

"Thank you for letting me stay over, Kaname."

"Of course. I'll take a shower first. You can go after me if you want to. Meanwhile, I can ask Hinata for some clothes for you," he suggested. "Ukyo will have finished breakfast by that time."

"Thank you so much for your hospitality," I repeated, bowing from my sitting position.

"Friends help each other out, don't they? It's hardly worthy of gratitude."

"Okay," I said slowly.

While Kaname was gone, I fell back on the futon, thinking about what had happened.

Kaname had appeared unfazed by how he had woken up this morning. Truthfully, he wasn't the kind of guy to throw a fit over something like this, but he hadn't even minded.

Before I had reached the inevitable conclusion that we weren't friends again, Kaname appeared in the doorway, dropping a hoodie and jeans on my lap.

After thanking him profoundly, I headed to the bathroom with the borrowed clothes.

The baggy and casual clothes barely hung onto my frame. With a sigh, I looked at myself in the mirror, wondering why Ema wore clothes that fitted her so bad.
