Ava felt herself froze in chock. The man that were now standing in front of her were the last person she ever thought she would see again. Not even two says ago she had seen him staked against a wall.
"You - you - you were dead." Ava stuttered out with her eyes wide open. Something in her told her that she should be scared, but somehow she felt safe next to him. It was something about him that made her relax.
"For centuries now." Elijah said with a smirk and Ava couldn't help but to giggle a little at his joke. This had made the shock leave her and a smile started to work its way to her face.
Elijah couldn't help but to smile at the girls reaction to his joke. No one ever thought that he were funny, and no one ever laughed at his jokes. But somehow she were different.
"How long have you been waiting to use that joke?" Ava said with a smirk on her face this time.
"A while." Admitted the original with a smile on his face and this time Ava laughed.
"Oh, I see." Ava smiled at the brown haired man.
"So, what are you doing out here all alone, if you don't mind me asking?" Ava let her eyes wander form the original to the surrounding nature and let out a sigh.
"I had a fight with my brother and I didn't want to stay in the house with him." Ava said with a shrug. She hated to fight with Tyler. They had always been so close, up until she activated her curse.
"Oh, I am sorry. I hope you will resolve everything soon." Elijah said with a look of sympathy in his eyes. He knew how much fighting with your siblings could hurt, he had lots of experience with that.
"Yeah, me too. We used to be really close, but we have been drifting apart for the last couple of months and now I feel like we never talk anymore." Ava said with hurt lacing her voice.
"Ever since you broke your curse?" Elijah asked and Ava froze. How could he have noticed that right away? Her friends hadn't noticed anything for months, and it only took him a few moments before he knew.
"How did you know?" Ava asked with an edge to her voice. She knew about the feud between vampires and werewolf's and she knew that she had no chance against the original if he got hostile.
"When you are as old as I am, you notice things." Elijah said and smiled at the girl. He could tell that she were scared and he wanted her to calm down a little, she had nothing to fear from him.
"Oh." Ava said with a nod, she felt a little better after hearings his voice but she still felt a little insecure about him. With an other smile to the girl Elijah were about to open his mouth again when rain started to fall.
Before Ava could even notice, Elijah had picked her up and brought her back to an apartment.
Ava felt shocked when she suddenly were standing in an apartment next to the original. That was nothing she had expected when they had been standing next to the road talking at one moment and the next he had moved her.
