Y/N right?"
I open my eye to whiteness a figure slowly appeared as the sun readjusted to my eyes. A boy with tight messy curls, small almond-shaped eyes that were staring at me and wide white friendly smile. A smile the looked so very familiar. A smile I remember seeing somewhere.
But the main point is that this boy, whoever he really is, he knew my name. He knew who I was. In the moment when it felt like not one single person knew who I was.
I just stood there staring at him with my arms crossed.
"Is it not?"
He asks a little cautiously and looks at the ground. I let my arms fall to my sides and sigh in anticipated disappointment.
He looked up at me.
"I'm sorry did I interrupt something? "
He said with a concerned look on his face.
"Nothing Important," I respond with a scoff.
"Is that your name?" Said as the boy stepped towards me
I turn around to look at the Clift, the Clift that almost took my life.
The boy was behind me now, and I turn around to face him. We were about 5 feet apart.
"Do you have a name?" he smiled smugly.
He was awfully friendly,
"Yeah, sorry my mind is just a bit foggy right now," I say softly.
"Oh, that's okay! I'm Finn. Finn Wolfhard!"
Then something clicked.
I've heard that name around school, that's where I knew him from.
"Cool, Yeah you got my name right"
"Nice to meet you," He said,
He takes out one hand from his pockets and our hands interlock in the worlds most awkward handshake.
"You are awfully friendly." I laugh as sit on a large stone
"Yeah... It's kinda odd, to be honest. I normally don't approach people, too shy, ya know?"
"Yeah, I get it. So, What are you doing up here?"
"I could ask you the same thing Y/N"
"The views are beautiful, and you are away from people so you ca-"
"Can scream"
I look up at the thin boy before me leaning on a rock.
"You heard that?"
"It's pretty damn echo-y up here, anyone within 10km probably heard that!"
"Oh...." I place my head in my hands.
"I'm sorry, I'm not judging or anything like that! Everyone deserves a scream once in a while"
"Nah, it's okay if you did, would be hard not too."
"Do you...wanna talk about it?" He said cautiously.
"No, it's no big deal. You know basic teenager stuff. Family, school, boyfriend, and job. Just a Lil stress."
"Oh yeah I know, I mean that's why I'm up here I like to go for a walk and get lost in places to clear my mind. You know listen to some Pixies, the Frights and a little bit of the Beatles."
"Beatles?" I make eye contact with Finn
"Mhmm" Continuing the eye contact
"I wouldn't take you as a Beatles fan?" I smile a little excited now.
"Pff,I listen to a bit of everything"
Finn leans off his rock and sits beside me, by the edge.
"Do you have a phone number...? Maybe, we can keep in contact?"
I start laughing at the irony and my dumb ass.
"Oh, hard way to turn down someone."
"Wait, no, I'm sorry, it's just that I threw my phone off of the cliff. I wasn't laughing at you!"
"Wha- wh- " he choking on words between his laughs
"What? WHy?" he finally spits out.
"I already told you, I was mad!" I roll my eyes then giggled.
"I have skype though, on my laptop at home."
"What's your username?" he askes
"Y/N.L/N19"
"L/N... Is that your last name?
"Yeah." I sigh
"Wait I've heard that name before. Y/N, L/N.''
He stares off to the shadow of the town, while I see him focusing on my full name. Then his face lights up with a smile and makes eye contact with me.
"You go to West King Secondary School, right?"
"Yeah, I'm guessing you do too?
"Yeah! We should hang out at school." he smiled
My heart jumped for a second. An odd feeling appeared. The fact someone wanted to hang out with me is way beyond me. I look into Finns murky brown eye smile and say
"I'd love that,"
"Perfect! I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Totally."
"Well my lady..." he says as he pushes himself off the rock and bows in front of you
"I must be off now." he finishes his sentence
I hop off the rock and curtsy in front of him.
"Till tomorrow my fair Sir."
We both laugh. Finn waves and turns around. I start to walk to the edge of the cliff again and pick up my bag and shoes. I turn around just to see Finn's curly hair vanish into the forest. I smile. I think I just may like this boy.
