Checking Procedure

Carly's Point of View:

I entered the school and looked around me to see almost all the students hands bandaged up and wondered what had I just saw. As I'm still looking at every student I had passed by, I didn't realize I accidentally bumped into someone.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry" I said.

"No, it's okay. I honestly wasn't looking where I was going" he replied.

I recognized the voice and looked to see it was Mason standing right before me. 

"Mason" I said surprised.

"Carly, Hey" he said surprised himself to see me.

"Hey" I said back to him.

"You see almost everyone with bandaged hands and it's not just me, right?" he asked as he was looking around us.

"Yeah" I said and looked behind him to see who is the cause behind all this.
Mason noticed that my attention was elsewhere and looked behind himself to see what I was observing.

It was Gabe along with Aaron confronting a student while he's up against the lockers.

"A new checking procedure to see who can heal... Seeing who is supernatural and who isn't" I explained.

"My god... They're really freaking out and they're taking this to far " Mason said.

"Yeah" I said.
After observing them for a while now, I feel disgusted for what they're doing. Gabe makes eye contact with me and I quickly look away and make eye contact with Mason.

"Your lucky they know you're not one of them. So, you get a free pass. But knowing Gabe, he has to make sure. He's going to come for me soon, I'm better off cutting myself than be embarrassed having my ex boyfriend cut me" I explained to him.

Mason looked at me with a confused look, like he knew what I was talking about but wasn't for sure.
We both look back in Gabe and Aaron's direction, but not until we both look in the direction not far from them. We see Nolan watching not far from a distance. I can hear Mason's breathing as he is heaving with anger and I know how he's feeling.

"Mason, I'm not a vengeful person, butI would like for Nolan to know what it feels like to be cut" I said to him.
He looks at me and nods as we both look at Nolan and he knows that we'll come after him. Because after staring at him for a while with anger in our eyes he quickly walks away. Just as Mason was about to go after him, I place my hand on his shoulder.
"We'll deal with Nolan later. But for now, I need to get this over with and I need you to hold me for this" I said.

I grab his hand and quickly speed walk to the locker room with Mason trailing behind me.

We get into the locker room and I pulled out a small blade I had in my backpack. I pop the blade out and Mason couldn't believe I had this with me, he looked like he was either going to freak out or pass out. I breath in and out calmly knowing I have to do this now so, it won't happen later.

"You sure about this?" He questioned.

"Yes, like I said... I'm better off doing this myself than having Gabe do it forcefully" I said as I was holding the blade not far from the palm of my hand.

"This is where you're going to come behind me and hold me" I said to him.

He nods his head and comes behind me to hug me from behind. I continue to breath in and out calmly as I felt tears forming in my eyes and kept them shut. I then put the blade to the skin of my hand and let it slide gently. I pulled the blade away and opened my eyes to look at my hand to see the cut I left. It didn't hurt until I started to think about it, but I know that I did this for a reason.

"Do you have any bandages in your backpack?" Mason asked as he held me.

"Yes" I nodded and he let go of me and went through my backpack to find the bandages as I was still holding the blade in my hand.

As the got the bandages, we both hear the door open and look towards the entrance to see Gabe and Aaron. They just stand there, like they just froze in place not knowing what they walked in on. I turn my attention back to Mason as he turned his attention back to me. He started to wrap the bandage wraps around my cut hand, I placed the blade down and helped him wrap it. I place my hand over my bandaged hand as he covers my hands with both of his. We looked up at each other and smiled and nodded at each other.

I grabbed my backpack and placed the blade back inside. Me and Mason were then walking towards Gabe and Aaron, I put my hand up to Gabe's face to show him what I did.
"There, I did it to save you the trouble" I said to him before walking out with Mason right behind me.
