A few months later

Havana .

"Good morning class. I would like to introduce you to your final project." Mrs. Toatler announced.

The class groaned, including me.

"It's very simple. I want you and your partner to try and get to know each other. I have already picked partners. But, it's with someone that you usually don't associate with. As I call you and your partner's name, please sit with them." Mrs. Toatler explained.

Someone I don't associate with? Everyone! This can't be good. Mrs. Toatler started to call names as I gnawed on my bottom lip hoping that I don't get someone too bad. I heard Zayn's name and my old friend Megan's name. I really started to get nervous because I was hoping to get her since we used to be friends. I became more antsy with anticipation until Mrs. Toatler spoke the unthinkable:

"Havana and Chris."

My eyes widened and I quickly looked at Zayn to see if he had heard. He did, I looked back to Mrs. Toatler with pleading eyes.

"These are your partners. No changes. Project is due in two weeks, good luck." Mrs. Toatler smiled.

Bitch.

I grabbed my things and made my way over to Chris' desk along with a chair. I opened my notebook to a clean page and began to write Chris' name at the top.

"So, let's get the small stuff out the way. Basic facts." I stated.

Chris sighed and said,

"Obviously I'm Chris, I'm 17. I'm from Tappahannock, Virginia. My favorite colors are red and black and I draw."

And you're an asshole too.

"Okay, slow it down. And can you spell where you're from?" I asked.

"Oh, Tappahannock?" Chris asked.

"Yeah." I answered.

"T-a-p-p-a-h-a-n-n-o-c-k."

"Okay. Now I got it. Just repeat the last things you said." I replied.

"My favorite colors are red and black and I draw." Chris repeated.

I jotted down everything and repeated it back to him.

"Oh and I'm funny." Chris smiled.

I gave him the stale face and he said,

"What? I am."

No the hell you're not.

"I'll prove it to you when I go to your house today." Chris smirked.

"Whoa, who says you're coming to my house today?" I questioned.

"Me." Chris answered, in a duh tone.

"Whatever."

After that, the bell rang for the next class.

***

"So this is your home?" Chris asked.

"No, it's just a place where I sleep at night." I replied, sarcastically and unlocked the door and walked inside.

"Oh ha ha ha ha very funny." Chris grumbled, walking in as well and closing the door behind him.

"Havana?" My mom called.

"Yeah, mom?" I called out.

"Is that Zayn with you?" She asked, her voice coming closer.

"No, it's just a guy from school that I'm working on a project with." I answered, as she came down the stairs.

"Oh hi, I'm Priscilla." My mom introduced, holding out her hand.

"I'm Chris."

"Well, I'm gonna go head out to a doctor's appointment. Don't do anything reckless Havana." My mom informed.

"I won't." I groaned, as she walked to the door.

"Alright, love you."

"Love you too mommy." I replied, as she left.

"Love you too mommy." Chris mimicked.

"I shut up," I huffed. "c'mon my room is this way." I said, leading him up the stairs and into my room.

"Awww, you're room is so cute. All girly." Chris cooed.

"Can you not?" I said, rolling my eyes.

I got out my notebook and pen.

"Okay, uhm, what types of genre do you listen to?" I asked, not looking up from my notebook.

"R&B, Hip-Hop, and maybe a bit of pop time to time." Chris said, as I wrote it all down.

"Uh any siblings?" I asked.

"Yeah, an older sister." Chris answered.

"Oh! And the ladies love me." Chris boasted.

I looked up at him like he was stupid. Instead, he made a weird face that made me giggle and smile.

"See! I told you I was funny!" Chris exclaimed.

"That doesn't mean anything! All you did was make me giggle and smile. It doesn't mean you're funny." I replied.

"Wanna hear about the time my sister pushed me down the stairs?" Chris asked.

Okay, that made me laugh. Just imagining Chris falling down the stairs is just funny.

"It's not funny." Chris said, as I kept laughing.

"You are funny." I admitted.

"I told you!" Chris smirked.

For the rest of the time, I kept interviewing Chris until he had to interview me. Then out of nowhere, my door opened and someone walked in.

"Dad?"

My head shot up to see Marvin standing there, and Chris looking at Marvin in disbelief.

Wait...what?!
