Edward's POV:
When we got to MayMay's house Tita Lorna was there in the kitchen and she was washing the dishes
"Oh Hi guys, MayMay is upstairs, she's sleeping, oh Edward you're here pala, I haven't seen you in a long time" She said and I walked over to her and kissed her cheek
"Opo Tita I'm here to see MayMay" I said and she nodded her head and smiled at me
"Well you guys can go up na, Yong can you get the monitors started and also her oxygen machine, I don't know kasi eh, she just fell asleep 10 minutes ago naman eh, I checked on her naman a few minutes before you cam she's still breathing fine" She said and I just looked at her, is it really that bad? I'm such a horrible best friend
"Okay po Tita, I'll set it up, we'll go up na po ha" Yong said and Tita just nodded her head
"Thanks Yong" She said and he nodded and we all went up to MayMay's room I was the first one there so I opened the door and when I saw her I swear I think my heart sank. There were so much machines in here, maybe that's why Yong always stays here and that her curtains are always closed. I haven't been here in a long time, I miss her room, I miss her.
"Yong, I'll be the one to set the monitors you be the one nalang for her oxygen machine" Marco said and Yong just nodded. I saw that they were doing something to the monitors and then I saw Yong put an oxygen mask on MayMay's mouth
"What's that for?" I asked and they all looked at me
"Well it's for her to not die when she's sleeping, because her symptoms might occur when she's sleeping so we put her oxygen mask on her overtime she sleeps so she will be able to breath normally" Christian said and I just looked at her
"Well can you please tell us what you did to make Ate May cry.....again" Rita said and I just nodded and sat down on a beanbag
"Well nung lunchtime Heaven came to me crying, her hair was a mess and her cheek was red and I asked her what happened to her and she said MayMay and that's what I talked to Maymay and I blamed her for what happened to Heaven and then she just started shouting at me and she told me about her condition and about much she sacrificed and now I really feel bad, I broke up with Heaven because I saw that she was cheating on me. Now I will just focus on MayMay, I will give her all my time, I don't want to lose her, I love her, I can't lose her, if she dies I do too" I explained and they all looked at me
"Well you have a lot of making up to do" Kristine said and I just looked down
"I know, I hurt her and I feel so bad, I love her so much, I can't lose her" I said and they just nodded at me and smiled
"Well we'll leave you two, we're gonna help Tita Lorna downstairs" She said and I just nodded my head, they left the room and I sat beside MayMay and I just held her hand
"I'm so sorry MayMay, you don't deserve this, I'm sorry I hope you can forgive me, I love you so much MayMay, please don't leave us, I promise I'll make it up to you" I said and I felt tears in my eyes, I wipe my tears and I just looked around, I saw pictures of us all over the room and of course pictures of Enrique, I stood up and roamed around, we had a lot of memories together, I don't know why I let a girl ruin our lives, I let Heaven hurt MayMay, gosh I really was stupid.
"Edward?" I heard and I looked at MayMay and she was awake and I walked over to her
"Hey May" I said, she removed the oxygen mask and she just looked at me
"What are you doing here?" She asked and I just held her hand in mine
"Well after you shouted at me a while ago I tried to look for you but you were nowhere to be found so I asked help from the others, and when school was over you didn't go to class so we were worried but then your mom texted Yong and said that you were home, so we quickly went here and yah" I said and she just nodded her head
"I'm so sorry MayMay, I was blinded by Heaven, I promise that I will make it up to you, I promise I will always make time for you" I said and she just smiled at me and nodded her head I hugged her and snuggled my face in her hair and she just hugged me back
"I missed you so much MayMay" I said
"I missed you Edward, I missed you so much" She said and I was really happy to hear that. I pulled away from the hug and looked at her
"I promise May, I won't let you down" I said and she just smiled at me and nodded her head. I think it's time that I tell her
"MayMay I have something to tell you" I said and she just nodded her head
"Sure what is it?" She asked, I just looked at her and scratched the back of my neck
"Well ummm you see, umm I have like you since the first time that I saw you when we were kids, I fell in love with you, you're perfect, you have everything, and even if you are sick I am still madly in love with you, I don't even know why I got together with Heaven, maybe it was the fact that I wanted to get rid of my feelings for you because I don't want to ruin our friendship, so what I'm trying to say is that I am willing to take care of you, I'm willing to learn all of your medication, so I'm gonna ask you this, MayMay Entrata will you be my girlfriend?" I asked her and she just looked at me and smiled and held my cheek and rubbed it with her thumb
"I have liked you for a long time Edward, but I guess we were just to blind to see it, so yes, yes I would be your girlfriend" She said and I just jumped up and down while uncontrollably smiling and I heard MayMay laughing at me. I stopped jumping and sat beside her again and I just stared at her, I can't believe after all these years MayMay Entrata is finally my girlfriend, I can't believe this, I am unbelievably happy, this is the happiest day of my life
"Oh yah Edward I forgot to say, my surgery is in two days." She said and I just looked at her
"Are you gonna make it?" I asked her and she just looked down at her hands
"Well the doctor said I have a 30% chance of living and I have a 70% chance of not" She said, and I just held her hands in mine
"MayMay no matter what, I will always be here for you okay? Don't worry love nandito lang ako for you" I said and she nodded her head and leaned her head on my shoulder
