"Are you going to tell me your name now?" It was the fourth time Carter asked me that in a span of five minutes. I've been sitting here, trying to ignore his annoying presence, but he's proving it to be harder than I thought.

I thought that he would've gotten the message that I don't want to talk to him by now. Was I running from him yesterday twice not enough to give him a hint? Seriously, he's just wasting his time and effort. I can say that he's a really nice person and that he shouldn't waste his kindness on me, because he wouldn't be getting anything in return.

Well, other than short, unfriendly responses.

Oh, and don't forget the ignoring part.

"Fine." He said mischievously. "If asking you isn't going to work, then I'll just think of another way, then." He grabbed his bag from the floor, standing up to his incredible height. "I'll see you later, Ms. Johnson." He smirked, tipping his imaginary hat.

I simply looked at him, disinterested. He smiled at me one last time before making his way out the door, way before the bell rang. I hate to admit it, but the curiosity of where he's going is killing me.

I tried to keep myself busy by doodling on my notebook and by playing with the string on my hoodie, but then realized that it wasn't working and that I'm just wasting my precious time.

I quickly glanced at the clock in front of the class, counting how many minutes were there before class starts.

7:45

I still have fifteen minutes.

With that thought in my head, I snatched my bag off the floor, packing my stuff, before dashing through the door and into the hallway. I glanced around me, trying to guess where he went.

I hastily searched for a guy with a mop of black hair in crowd, glancing around like a maniac, before spotting three, all going to different directions.

Deciding that the other two weren't that tall I followed the guy on my left, hoping that I'm following the right guy. He's almost at the end of the hallway and I'm not yet halfway through. I quicken my pace, carelessly bumping into people. I would mutter an apology whenever someone would complain, but I still won't slow down.

Nothing else is on my mind, other than finding out what Carter is up to.

Sue me for being curious.

He took a right turn then disappeared from my sight. I hurriedly jog through a crowd of students, taking a right at the end of the hallway, just like he did. I'm still not sure whether I'm following the right guy, but I'm hoping I am.

My best guess was that he went to the gym, which is at the end of this hallway. I kept on jogging even though I'm already panting in exhaustion. This is longest exercise I've had in a while.

The number of students that are wondering around is beginning to decrease by the minute, making me more aware of the time. I slowed down to a walk once I was halfway through the hall. A sense of achievement bubbled at the pit of my stomach at the realization that I succeeded. I reached for the doors pushing it a little to make a small space, just enough to let me peek in.

My eyes roam across the whole room, but saw no one. My eyebrows furrowed, my lips parted in disappointment. The achievement I felt quickly dissipated when I realized that he's not here. In fact, no one is. I hung my head low feeling quite defeated. I backed off of the door and leaned against the wall beside it instead. I bit my lip, trying to think where he could've gone.

I'm not sure why I followed him. Or maybe I thought that him leaving has something to do with his 'mission' to find out what my name is. I sighed. Maybe I'm thinking too highly of myself. Why would he go out of his way, so much that he decided to ditch class, just to know my name?
