The start

I was so scared.
What was going on.
I froze and zoned out Tyler shook me out of it and promised In a calm voice that we were going to be ok.
It gave me comfort.
We heard people running so we decided to follow the crowd of people stampeding down the corridor for the doors.
We ended up outside, we were instructed to go into our armour and gather our weapons and wait for orders.
We were placed into squads thank god I was in Tyler's, he was placed in charge since he was the commanders son.
My position was very close to Tyler's as my weapon was a battle axe and I had to be near the front.
After getting organised in such a short amount of time, we were finally told what was going on
The commander explained that mimics have attacked a near by town it was our job to rescue any survivors and kill the vile creatures.
I hated them and I always will, they took the people that were precious to me.
Even mentioning them lit a fire in my eyes.
And it angered me.
With a quick salute, we then scattered off in our squads to the separate trucks and drove to what was left of the hopeless town.
When we arrived Tyler instructed the soldiers to take their positions however he told me to stay very close to him.
We soon heard a little girl crying, I disobeyed orders and went to find the frightened child.
I searched through the rumble I soon find her, she was so cute with her little ponytail in and she was clothed in a now more dirty dress.
I picked her up and asked her what her name was.
There was no response but I can feel her shaking as she had her arms tightly rapped around my neck.
I've been in same position as her and it wasn't a nice feeling at all.
I quickly ran back to the squad Tyler wasn't too pleased with my actions but he was proud that I saved the young girl.
I told her to stay in the truck I gave her a warm blanket so she wouldn't get cold.
A storm of mimics charged straight towards all the team, racing down the old Main Street of the town.
Me and Tyler smiled and nodded our heads and violently ran towards the enemies.
I took a huge swing and sliced the creature in half it's purple blood splattered all over the rubble and a couple drops on me.
I was so proud of myself, I actually killed one of them.
There was still more to come, I got lucky.
Tyler had already killed way more than me, he was so strong.
The hours passed we were killing hundreds of them as they swarmed in from every angle.
I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my chest almost like a knife, blood began pouring into my hands.
I guess my luck had run out, Tyler lost his mind went crazy he was unstoppable and he took out all of his anger and pain onto the mimic that had stabbed me.
I fell backwards and my vision became blurry.
Tyler caught me just before I hit the ground, he began to cry I could feel his warm tears dripping onto my freezing cheeks.
I lifted my hand to touch his face and wipe away the tears that he shed.
"I love you, Tyler don't forget me"
I lost all vision everything became dark.
I then saw a bright glowing radiant light.
I followed it.
I opened my eyes and i woke up,
Just a dream? I repeatedly kept telling myself that.
I shook my head to snap out of it.
I got dressed in my uniform and quickly brushed my teeth then tied my hair up in something that resembled a bun.
It's exactly like this morning all over again...
