I wake up early to get ready- I'm so nervous. I get up and stretch before going to the toilet. After that I sit at my desk and do my makeup, nothing too much, just some mascara and a natural highlight. I'm lucky enough to have pretty clear skin, and there's no need to cake your face for school anyway. I put my outfit on and examine myself in the mirror before brushing my hair. I'm feeling myself today, which is great as I need all the confidence I can get.
I sit down on the edge of my bed for a while before my dad calls me and my brother down for breakfast, I go downstairs into the kitchen and sit at the table.
"So you guys excited for school?" My dad asked while placing our plates of bacon and toast on the table.
"Yeah I'm sure it will be fine," I started to say, "I was getting sick of the people in England anyway"
My brother was less excited by the idea of a new school, but he'll get used to it. I don't think any of us could have survived in England much longer anyway- no one here knows anything about us, so no one can give me all the fake sympathy I was getting back in the UK. People who I never spoke to suddenly cared because my mother died. I get that they were being nice but it just seemed fake.

I waved my dad goodbye as he drove off, leaving me at the entrance of Liberty High. I needed to find the office to meet whoever was giving me a tour and get my timetable. Actually being here was I bit more intimidating than I expected- everyone in their groups huddled together. And then me, by myself, at the front gates.
As I walked into the school there was a group of jocks to the left by the lockers. About 5 of them. As I walked past one of them walked up to me,
"Hey you new around here? I've not seen you before."
After he said that to me I heard another one of them shout "get it Bryce" behind me.
"Yeah. I'm new.. Hi" I awkwardly replied
"Well I'm Bryce," the jock started to say as he moved slightly closer to me. Uncomfortably closer, "What's your name sweetheart?"
I didn't know what to say, or how to say it. I barely managed to say "I'm Elle" before Bryce was shoved away from me by another jock who wasn't with the group,
"Dude get off her she's barely been here a minute. Can you even go a day without harassing someone?"
Before even being able to register what was happening the mystery guy grabbed my wrist and walked me to another group,
"Look you should stay away from Bryce. He's not a good guy. Oh and by the way I'm Zach."
"Umm.. thanks, I guess" I muttered to himZach introduces himself and his group properly- they all seemed nice. It was him, these two girls Hannah and Jessica, Jessica's boyfriend Justin, two guys called Alex and Clay and another jock called Jeff. They seemed nice, and took me to the office so I could get my timetable and meet whoever was supposed to give me a tour.
