*Fast forward to Junior year*

"What a bad chick
She wants to flaunt it
Got that look in her eyes
She wants to own..."

I groaned, knowing it was time to wake up for another day of hell.

Without opening my eyes, I got up and began walking to my bathroom to start getting ready.

I put my contacts in, washed my face, and combed my curly hair. After I slipped on a tie dye vans shirt, white ripped jeans, and a pair of white high top vans. Finally, I sat down in front of my mirror and applied some makeup.

Once I was done, I hopped downstairs and prepared a bowl of Cheerios.

*ding*

My phone screen lit up, revealing a text from my best friend, Hinnd.

H: Who's driving today?

V: I will:) I call dibs on the aux cord, though.

H: ugh fineee, but I get it on the way home.

V: only if you get to the car first.

H: you're on.

I chuckled at how childish we were. Neither of us were serious, which is why we laughed at almost anything and looked for the fun in anything.

After I finished my cereal, I put the bowl in the sink and grabbed my car keys. Hopefully today won't be as dreadful.

I sighed and opened the car to my matte black Jeep. Scrolling through my music, I finally decided to play 'Weary Eyed' by Ocean Alley.

Since Hinnd lived down the block, I was at her house in no time.

Hinnd ran out of the front door, skipping to my car. I got my phone out and took a video of her.

"Looking like a snacc. Can I get your autograph? I'm your biggest fan!!" I laughed. She shook her head and jumped into the passengers seat.

On the way to school, we jammed out to Ocean Alley, since we were both huge fans. Once we got there, I pulled the keys out of the ignition and hopped out of the car, making sure to lock it.

"You're still trying out for soccer with me today, right?" Hinnd questioned.

"I don't know. You know how mad the varsity girls were at us for taking their friends' spots last year...I don't know if I want the drama this year." I looked down and sighed.

"Veronica, don't worry about them. They're just jealous because we will be the first girls to play varsity for 4 years. We've got two years down, so don't give up on it now," she frowned.

"I don't know.  Anyways, are you ready for the Chem test?" I was desperate to change the subject.

Not to be cocky, but I knew I was good at sports. Hinnd and I always got noticed by the athletic coaches, which don't get me wrong, it was a great feeling. When that brings drama, though, it takes away from all of the glory.

"Don't change the subject. Please?"

"Only for you," I nudged her arm and smiled weakly.

We walked to our lockers, which were conveniently next to each other. As I put my combination, I heard someone slam against the lockers.

I whipped my head around and saw Max holding a kid against a locker. Ethan. I ran over and ripped his shoulder back.

"Haven't you had enough of being an ass in your life? Stop picking on people." I scoffed.
