My aching feet finally entered the halls of Penn Manor High School, I made my way down the roaring hallway filled with students, all of which were probably here because they had to be- not because they wanted an education. I opened my locker, stuffing my jacket and my backpack into the foot deep cabinet.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Riley looking drained. I closed my locker behind me, "What's up?" I said, clutching my textbook. Riley shook her head, "This is why you shouldn't join school in the middle of the school year- you miss out on all the drama at the start. Now I have to catch you up on everything and honestly, that takes up too much energy,"
I bit my lip, "Wesley?" She groaned at his name, "Worse,"
I held in a laugh, "What could get worse than that?" Just then I saw Riley glance at someone to my left, I looked in that direction to see Jason staring intently at her.
I looked back at Riley, "Oh,"
She nodded, "Oh,"
"You like him?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. Although I really couldn't so I ended making just a weird face that made the incoming people in front of me laugh. Basically- Peyton laughed.
Peyton, Luna, Paris, and Angel all formed a circle with us somehow being apart of it even though we didn't once move. High school I tell you.
"It's only been five minutes since I walked into school and I already want to leave," Angel shrugged. Peyton rolled her eyes, "Yeah we know, is there anything positive you can say?"
"Okay- I'm positive that I want to go home,"
In turn, Luna rolled her eyes. "You know, one day I'm going to paint a picture of both of your bickering and call it Modern Warfare,"
"You're a painter?" I asked Luna.
"Where have you been Patrick?" Riley laughed. I couldn't help but giggle at her Spongebob joke.
Luna's eyes widened a little, but you really couldn't tell as her big blue eyes already looked as widen as they could be. "Yesterday's game was pretty fun," Luna brought up a topic.
"Dude-" with a glare from Paris, Riley changed her word, "Girls,"
"Ladies, if you will,"
"Alright then, ladies," Riley said looking irritated, "That touchdown by Jacob was amazing,"
"It was a pick-six," Peyton shrugged.
"What's that?" Luna asked innocently.
"It's when the player intercepts the ball from the opponents and makes it all the way to the touchdown zone, they pick up the ball- and gain six points. Pick-six,"
"That was hella sexy," Paris winked. My eyebrows furrowed as I smelled something fishy going on. Just then a hand went over my eyes, everything went dark. A wave of cologne engulfed my senses, a familiar scent.
"Hey! Jacob," I heard Cali's voice, her voice loud and clear, making it obvious she was standing less than two feet away from us, I took the hands off of my eyes.
"Oh uh hey Cali," Jacob said awkwardly. Cali smiled innocently, "I just wanted to say good game, that six-pick by you was amazing,"
Jacob held in his laugh, "Yeah, thanks," his tongue ran over his inner lip, making Cali blush and walk away. He turned towards me and I rolled my eyes.
"Damn I never knew you were such a playboy Jacob," Angel said, making the girls laugh.
Jacob winked at Angel but said nothing.
