There was a man,
Which was loyal to his mates.
When his beloved was going abroad, he made a promise,
"I'll be waiting for you. No matter how long it takes."
The woman chuckled and smiled at him.
His heart felt calm when he saw her smile.

Although the sky became gloomy,
Or a hurricane past by his hometown,
He kept waiting for her.
As they planned to be together.
He called her sometimes.
She said she was happy there...
Every night, he prayed that she was doing well abroad.

A few days later, he got a fever.
He didn't tell her.
He tried his best to take care of himself.
He recalled the times when he took care of her.
He noticed she didn't call him once at all.
He felt uneasy.
He sent a simple message but,
She only replied with a short, "I'm busy."
...

Days and months had past.
The seasons changed like with a snap of a finger.
He lived his life normally with his family.
He felt... Uneasy.
He tried to be as normal as possible and shake off his thoughts.
The usual 'what ifs' and other stuffs.
Suddenly a thought popped up in his mind,
'What if.. She didn't remember our promise..?'

It had been a few years since the last time they met.
At the lighthouse, where he said that sentence...
He had a stable job and owned a cozy house.
He took a sip from a cup of coffee while he sat on a chair infront of the coffee shop.
He looked at the azure sky and took another sip.
At the corner of his eyes, he saw a familiar woman..

With a child gripping her right hand and a man holding her left hand.
He felt his whole body starting to shut down.
His body became aching from the inside and he looked away.
When he took a second look at her again, their eyes suddenly met.
He felt as if the time had frozen.
At that moment, he only could plastered a forceful, small smile.
The woman shivered and looked away.

"Let's..go that way.." She swung her hand a bit which was gripping her husband's hand.
Her husband nodded and followed her.
The loyal man just looked at them as they walked away.
This aching feeling.
It was as if it's ripping his heart and soul in unison.
He sighed heavily and looked at the sky.

"How I wish.. I can rewrite this timeline.."
He whispered as his tears rolled down his cheeks..
