Eleanor's POV
When I finished up my business in the woods, I started to feel the light drops of rain against my skin. As I was walking back, they felt like they got heavier by the second. In a matter of 20 seconds it went from a light drizzle to the horrifying downpour. I tried to look up at the sky, and saw that it no longer looked like the Buffalo, New York sky I remembered. It is pitch black with spots of dark grey in between. No sunshine, no clear blue sky, just an empty blackness.
"Ellie? Ellie!! Where are you?" I hear Ian yell. I could barely hear anything over this downpour. I run as fast as I can dodging fallen tree limbs and slippery leaves. When I am almost to the clearing, that is when I hear it. The thunder, booming loudly over everything, using its forceful self against us. I can see the opening into the meadow where Ian is, I just need to get to my safety with him.
"ELLIE!!!" he screams, sounding in pain.
"Ian." I whisper back, not that he can hear me. I need to find him and get away from this place. I reach the clearing and see him. His beautiful face is washed over with pain and fright. He is clutching his right side tightly, near his ribs. I run over to him as fast as I can and see the lightning illuminate the sky.
"Oh my god, Ian," I say to him as I bend down on my knees to see his wound better, "what happened?" I ask him.
"I was running into the woods trying to find you and I tripped over that." he says pointing to a huge log and what he must have landed on was a fallen half of a tree with a huge branch sticking out of it.
"Oh my god, let me see, please?" I ask him. He removes his bloodied hand from his side to reveal a deep and wide wound. It looks red, puffy, and irritated. If we don't clean it, it could get infected, all that I am thinking about is him now.
"C'mon we have to get out of here!" I yell over the noise as I put my arm around his shoulders. He wraps his free arm that is not clutching his side around my waist. He limps his way towards where I am walking.
"AHHH" he screams as he falls towards me, so he is leaning on me. His wound keeps bleeding non-stop and I infer it has been since he first got it. I look to see his face and he looks pale. He's loosing too much blood. I start to move faster in no direction at all, but I hope where I am headed is the right place.
"Do you know where you're going?" he asks me, seeming to read my mind.
"Not really." I tell him, trying to remember how we came in here in the first place.
"I could kinda tell." he says with a grin on his face, he points towards the complete oposite side of where I was headed.
"Oh. Thanks" I mumble under my breath. We keep walking and making barely any progress while the storm is not letting up in the least bit. It seems to be right over us, and we have no cover. I slowly "drag" him along and he tries his best to walk. All of a sudden the sky is a bright, colored dark grey. I hear a crack and look to my right and see one of the biggest trees here starting to fall. It got split in half and is falling straight towards us.
I try to move faster towards our destination and trip. I push Ian farther in front of me by a few feet. I see a dark shadow coming overhead of me and hear Ian yelling my name. I slowly get to my knees while everything is spinning. I start to move and get away. As I stand up, another burst of lightning takes over my vision. But this time it isn't like the others. It is more up close and I can feel it. I hear someone gasp and them yelling my name. I am numb on the inside and feel myself falling backwards. I start to loose all my senses, my vision is blurred and going between blackout and normal. My hearing is just a slight ringing in my ears. I feel like I am being burned from the inside out and have no control of my actions anymore. My thoughts are slowly turning to nothing.
Approaching me at a slow pace is an outline that looks familiar but I cannot think of where I have seen it before. I see a boy above, kneeling over me. His face looks pained and he is crying. I am trying to think where I have seen him before but it is drawing a blank to me. His mouth is moving, but I don't hear anything from him. The last thing I see before I loose complete consciousness is his emerald green orbs staring into me.
