When I woke up, Gus was once again gone. I checked my phone again, and there weren't any notifications. None. I slowly got up, looking around for him. It was almost 11:30. I looked around for a note that he might have left like he did yesterday morning, but there weren't any. I sighed.
Maybe I was just another hit and run. I mean, guys do that right? It makes sense that he wouldn't want me of all the girls he has the potential to have.
But then I remembered, he posted me on his Instagram. I hurridly tried to unlock my phone to get to his page. My phone couldn't have loaded any slower, I swear. Once it did load, there weren't any new posts, and I was still there. I let out a sigh of relief and smiled.
I figured that those pictures would not still be there if he was gonna just ghost me. I sat my phone down, then made my way towards my room for some new clothes so I could take a shower. Just as I was about to step in the bathroom though, my phone started buzzing, then my ringtone went off. I ran over to the couch where I had last left it, then picked it up. It was an unknown number trying to facetime me. I giggled, figuring this could be fun.
I sat down on the couch and answered, having my phone right below my face as I looked down at it. I looked goofy as hell, and I was ready for whatever was next.
To my surprise, it was Gus. I freaked out and threw my phone, covering my mouth. He started speaking. "Hey, what was that for? Throw me across the damn room, why not!" I giggled, pickimg the phone up again. "How'd you get my number?"
"Well I tried DM'ing you, but you weren't answering. So after an hour or so, I DM'ed Bella and she gave me your number so I could call you. She said they went to her practice or something." I nodded, everything making a little more sense.
"Riiight. So whatcha need?"
"I wanted to see you, duh." I snickered at him. "Then why don't you come over?"
"I told you I had to go to a funeral."
"You're facetiming me at a funeral!" The words spilled out of my mouth, and I was holding back a laugh.
"Yes, I'm in the bathroom." I let my compressed laugh out and he laughed too. "Go back out there! It's disrespectful!"
"Disrespectful my ass, why don't you just come down here, huh?" I sighed, genuinely considering it. I had nothing else to do.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously. There's like two hours left, it just started. I'll go outside to bring you in." I sighed once again. "Isn't it weird that I don't know who died?" Gus shrugged, saying that he didn't know either. "My mom is here, I told her about you. She said it was a friend of hers from highschool that used to babysit me. She won't mind if you come. We can even go out to lunch after, how about that?"
A smile slowly crept on my face as I found myself agreeing against my will.
"Give me 20 minutes to get ready, okay?"
"Okay. I'll come pick you up, There's no point in there being two cars if we're going out after." I nodded as we said our goodbyes and hung up.
I darted to the bathroom to brush my teeth, then comb through my hair. It was a mess. I turned my curling iron on while I went to change. I only really had one black dress; it was kind of cute I guess.
After I put my dress on, I grabbed my black and white low-top converse and put them on. I ran back into the bathroom and threw my hair up into a pony tail as I curled each piece of hair. Once I took my ponytail down, I had perfect curls that all fell into place. I smiled at myself in the mirror when my phone started ringing. It was Gus."Hey hey girllll," I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Mhm?"
"I'm here goofy."
I giggled and hung up on him, walking outside. I texted my mom that me and Gus we're going out and she said that it was fine with a smiley face. I love my mom.
When I opened the car door, Gus was already talking to me. "Yanno, it's considered rude to hang up on people without saying bye?"
I chuckled and replied with a, "Yanno it's rude to facetime someone in the mens public restroom while you're at a funeral for no apparent reason?" He rolled his eyes as we pulled out of my driveway. "My mom is excited to meet you."
My chest tightened. Sure, I've met my boyfriend's parents before, but this was different. It was all strange to me. I wonder what Gus' mom was like?
"Is she not concerned that you're bringing me to a funeral to meet her?"
Gus laughed and sighed. "Believe me, she's just glad I'm getting out and meeting people." I smiled at him, then rested my hand on the center console, then he placed his hand on top of mine. I tingled with electricity and smiled, leaning back in my seat. I was happy to be in the presense of Gus, even if we were going to a funeral.
"You look stunning." I looked over at him, looking over his outfit. "You could say the same about yourself." I winked, and he smiled at me. His smile was cute, like a child in a candy shop.
We parked in the parking lot of the church, and I got out. "Are you ready?" I sighed, extremely unprepared. However, I put on a smile and said yes. He interlocked his fingers with mine, and we walked into the church.
