Chapter 9- It Wasn't Me

Beth's POV
All of this is still unreal to me. I understood my curse, I've been cursed all my life, but the rest of them? What did they do to deserve it?

We followed our future selves into the middle of the woods, where future Piper did a protection spell. "Woah, what was that?" Piper asked excitedly.

"A forcefield. This is part of what I will be teaching you. As for Wren and Beth, they will be teaching you how to use your abilities wisely." We all looked at her with curious expressions.

"What do you mean by abilities?" Wren asks, the three of them smirk at each other before future Wren places her arms in an X shape and opens her hands. The forcefield was made wider and stronger. Next, future me closed her eyes and held her hands together tightly until she gained enough power to throw her hands out. That was enough to make the ground shake, but by the looks of it, the forcefield got even stronger.

"Go ahead Piper, touch it." Future Wren said, Piper walked up to touch the forcefield and was launched five feet away.

"Piper!" Wren screams, future Piper chuckles. "She can heal, that's why we asked her to do it. As for you, well you have to be very careful because the tiniest spark can burn you to pieces."

"But that doesn't make any sense, Wren got burned and severely hurt from the fire. How come that didn't kill her?" I ask our future selves, future Wren takes out a pocket knife and slits her wrist. I was about to scream, but future Piper started to cry and Wren's wound healed.

"Oh I get it now! Part of Piper's ability is that she can heal others, and since she cried on Wren and her tears went into Wren's wound, she healed her. This makes so much sense now!"

"All three of you are linked. You can manipulate three of the elements. Beth, you can manipulate earth. Piper, you can manipulate air. And Wren, you can manipulate fire. We are here to teach you about your abilities before it happens." Future Wren says, sounding vague.

"Before what happens?" Piper questions, walking back over to us. All of a sudden the wind picks up and a storm starts brewing. Piper, Wren and my future self look at each other uneasily.

"We have to do this fast. We don't have much time!" My future self says apprehensively, the three of us look at her and shake our hands. "Why not?"

"Because it's starting. And from what I remember, we only have a couple days before things go bad. You must be prepared, otherwise time will repeat itself. We need to start. Now."

Kyle's POV
The guys took the three of us on the other side of the camp site, the ground started shaking. "What the hell was that?" Gray snaps, future Nick chuckles.

"That was Beth. You'll see soon. For now we have to worry about you guys learning to use your abilities." Future Nick replies, we all look at him in confusion. I wonder if the girls are as confused as we are.

"You should've figured it out by now. Nick, you are the protector, which also makes you half witch. Gray, you have the same abilities as Beth, you can manipulate the forces of the earth. And Kyle-"

"I don't think we should tell him." Future Gray interferes, Future Nick glared at him. "He has a right to know!"

"Not after what he did!"

"What could I possibly have done that was so bad?" I snap, they both look at me and sigh. Future Nick shakes his head but Gray nods.

"You joined the others. You've used your powers for evil, and you've killed many of our own. Nick here, got this scar trying to protect his daughter from you. Because after all these years, you still want to destroy us. We need to have a better future Kyle, so I swear if you make the same mistakes I will end current you just so we can have a better future without you." Future Gray snaps. I was really taken back.

"Why would I join them? I don't even know who they are!" I protest, future Nick shakes his head.

"We've already said to much. We probably changed our future already. Let's just get to work-"

"I want to know how I can help. I want to use my abilities for good."

"Boy haven't I heard that one before!" Future Gray comments sarcastically, I roll my eyes. "Look, you can do more than you think. You'll discover it eventually, just right now it's too risky." Future Nick replied, giving a glare at future Gray. I huff in frustration.

"Fine. Then tell me something I can do." I demand, Future Gray rolls his eyes. "You can volunteer to be the guinea pig for the use of our powers."

"Why do you hate me so much?!" I scream, starting to get really angry. I feel my blood boiling. "Because you betrayed us and left us all for dead!"

"I wouldn't do that-"

"BUT YOU DID!" Future Gray slams his fists on the ground, causing it to open up all the way up to my feet. I glare at him, my heart rate quickens.

What's happening?

"AHHHH!" Wren screams as the ground pulled her to the floor, all the girls turn to Beth. "It wasn't me! I swear!"

"No. The only ones who can shake the ground that powerfully is me and Gray now." Future Beth denies as the ground opens up wider.

"HELP ME!" Wren screams even louder as a vine goes to grab her foot.

"Gray, if you don't stop this then Wren will die. We need to get to the girls now." Future Gray shakes his head. "I'm not going anywhere knowing you're still here-"

"If Wren is in trouble, I'm going to help him. And I'm guessing Kyle knows where the girls are, so he's the only one who can take him to us. Let's go." Nick takes my hand and pulls me into the direction of the girls while the others follow. When we got to the girls, Wren was hanging onto the ground for life and the rest of the girls were trying to pull her out but it wasn't working.

"HELP!" Wren screams at us, Gray and I shake our heads, not being able to know what to do. Without another word, magic was flying from Nicks mouth.

"In order to make everything clear, make these vines disappear. They say the truth will set you free so tell me who did this and bring Wren to me." He crosses his arms and points them at Wren. The vines let go of Wren's foot and Wren automatically appears in his arms. Then a flashback of what happened with Future Gray and I.

Everyone turns to Future Gray who has a guilty look on his face. "Sorry."

"YOU COULD'VE KILLED ME!" Wren screams, lunging at him as Nick holds her back. "I wasn't thinking-"

"No you weren't thinking Gray and that's your problem. You never think! If you would've thought about what you did then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place and Jacob would be alive!" Future Nick shouts, a tear falls down Future Gray's eye.

"No. What happened to Jacob was not my fault!"

"Yes it was! The whole thing was your fault-"

"Stop it! We aren't here to hold grudges! We are here for a better future. We are here to save ourselves from the evil we've had to face. If we can change the past then we can get Jacob back. You guys need to set aside what happened and focus on what we came here for. We need to focus on the mission so please, stop the bickering!" Future Piper shouts at all of them. All of a sudden rain started pouring down and lightning appeared out of nowhere.

"No not now. Shit!" Future Beth mutters under her breath, we all look at her as her eyes turn blue and her claws and fangs come out. I turn to current Beth and see that her and Gray's eyes are glowing and their claws are out. Then I look over at Wren to see that her fangs are out and that she's holding Nicks hand. Nick's eyes are glowing like fireballs, it's like I'm the only one who is not being effected.

Spoke too soon.

"AHHHHHH!" I screamed while holding my stomach. It felt like my insides were slowly breaking and melting.

"What's happening?" Piper shouts as her bones start cracking, Future Wren shakes her head as we all start screaming in pain.

"It's starting."
