Prelude - James
His Truth

"Shh, everything will be fine..."

"Shh, stop crying. I'm right here. Everything will be fine.."

I was lying down with my eyes closed, unable to stand and move, unable to do something to...respond to this voice. I was trapped. I looked around and saw...

Nothing.

"I promise. I'll always be by your side..." That voice. It seemed oddly familiar. The calming notes were slowly healing my skin of scars and stains.

"Always. And forever..." I tried to open my eyes and all I can do is sleep in peace...

Finally...

A white light suddenly flashed, I thought I was going blind. The light was stinging my eyes. I blocked the rays with my arms. Where am I? This place is awfully silent. There is nothing to be seen.

"Human." A voice of a man boomed through the atmosphere. I unconsciously dropped my arms to my sides. I froze in place. "No, you're not Human."

I'm not...Human?

"I see you're still new to this, again." Again? What does he mean?

"Who are you? W-Where am I? What am I doing here?!" I raised my voice.

"One at a time, James..." He uttered with a soft monotone voice.

"James...?" So James is my name...?

"Hmm, you really don't remember anything, my boy?" The voice hummed, almost in a singing manner. "And yes, your name is James. Oh, formalities. I am Cosmos."

"James! Come here!" Like a lightning struck in a roof, fire crackling sounds echoed all throughout, the voice sounded in my head and gained a face. It was a woman. She smiled, her golden locks falling on her white porcelain skin.

I winced. Instinctively, I slowly massaged my temples. "Fragments of your memories..."

I can now see him clearly as he walked forward from the blinding tunnel of light. His body was wrapped in layers of white fabric. Although a hood almost covered his head, golden leaves are seen and are intricately adorned and crowned on his head. A crystal is embedded on the middle of his forehead. His eyes where completely white, faintly hued a dark blue. There is no flaw to his features.

He's perfect.

"Much more like her memories. What a burden..." He clicked his tongue as he turned his back on me. Unlike his front, his back was covered by a see-through cape draping from his shoulders. The strangest thing was...

"The void." Oh.

He slowly ascended and swayed both of his arms horizontally, gracefully revealing his unclothed arms whilst dropping the layers of garments, leaving it hanging loosely on his waist. His cape still hung from his shoulders like it was permanently stitched there. Although his hood dropped on his broad shoulders, revealing a medium long hair. At a distance, he uttered incohorent words and closed his eyes.

Blinding light suddenly surrounded us. Flinching, I instinctively had to cover my eyes again.

"Open your eyes." I unconciously obeyed at his deep voice and paused. He was floating on my right side. When did he get here so fast?

I slowly opened my eyes and marveled at the sudden change of environment. My mouth gradually opened agape. What was once an eerily empty white room, a flowery green scenery filled the vast space around us. Green grass tickled my bare feet, which I just noticed up until now. "This," He gestured in front of me. "Is your home."

Home. My..home?

"Yes, James. Your home. Where you and everyone of your kind belong." Cosmos gave me a tight-lipped smile. Although his politeness seems genuine, his eyes twinkled something otherwise. It was...

Pity. He looks exactly like his mother.

"Come, I'll show you." The man extended a hand to James.

I hesitated before he, although somewhat forcibly, gently took both of my reluctant hands and closed his eyes. I nervously studied him before he suddenly gripped my wrists. His eyes opened and glowed completely white.

Blood rushed through my veins from where he gripped to my head. I closed my eyes and visibly winced, almost screaming at him to stop. I can't remove...my wrists...

"Kill, kill, kill!" My heart was pounding in my chest, ready to breakthrough my ribcage.

"Ah, I don't feel so good." I opened my vision and spoke up my thoughts. I became lightheaded from all of these sudden sparks in my brain. My brain cannot fully comprehend what was actually going on. All I know was that my head hurts like hell, I could collapse at any rate.

"Forgive me James but I must do this..." Cosmos finally wore a visible pitiful look on his face but kept his toothless smile. "For the greater good."

He gently let go of my wrists and gave me a reassuring smile one last time before he turned and left me alone without a goodbye...

His frame slowly dissipated until I only see a faint light.

"Be free! I'll always be by your side."

"Forever..." Then, I knew, it was too late...

At the second I heard the last word, I collapsed onto the green grass and saw darkness envelop my vision to a slumber...

A/N: Sorry if I re-did this a little bit. Back then, I hadn't really thought of what the plot is supposed to be until now. The next two chapters are also rewritten to align with the actual story I have in mind. Bear with me a little xx
