CHAPTER TWO - James
His Truth

"Right foot forward! Left foot up! Slide!" Ethan yelled at me, for the nth time, dictating the first part of the footwork for the current stance lesson whilst he stood there with a poker face, hands on his hips.

Yes, I have to face (endure) this and hear him commanding and repeating every detailed movement every single day as if I hadn't memorized it. I just lacked control and probably... "Enforce! Don't forget to be swift and quick! Graceful!"

Right...

I sighed as I did (at least tried to do) what he said. We're now at the seventh dance stance, considering the fact that I have been learning dance stances since almost four years now. It may seem very slow considering I have only learned at least six stances with the current rate of rigorous and meticulous training done. I would say I mastered the first four, at maximum. Every stance is just so different and unique from each other!

But trust me, it may seem really sluggish but according to the high almighty mentor (who else is there?) himself, I was doing fairly fast than regular Humans do. I don't really know what he meant by that. I always contradicted it. He was much better. Still is...

I wouldn't admit that aloud, though. His head would just get bigger. Though his ego already big enough. I don't want it to be suffocating for the both of us.

Mostly for my part.

"Flow like the wind! Feel your blood flowing in your veins!" I sighed as I tried.

Honestly, it's hard...

But I digress.

For the past couple of years, everything just seemed foreign for me. Sure, I get to remember the basics like my name and instinctive actions based on my survival. There's so much things I have to learn in this world. Luckily, I have Ethan to fill me in with those.

Though I hate to admit, he did a pretty good job at filling me in with the essentials—you could say the basics of this foreign, yet familiar in some ways, world.

Well, in full retrospect, this universe is composed of various creatures like elves, goblins, dwarves, or basically any specimen you can name of; this world may have it all. Almost all of the population is composed of crossbred beings, any combination you can think of based on the given races and population.

Remember when I said almost? Yeah, good.

On every food chain or social classes, there's always this 'primary level'—the top of the hierarchy, the special ones. This world calls them the Priveleged. Though the population is rare and exotic, it is still divided into more of a narrowed population.

This level contains two parts. The first portion is classifed as the Purebloods. These untainted pure-blooded beings with distinction of race only add up to less than a percent of the population total. They are perceived to be exceptionally wise and powerful, hence most of them are seated in monarch positions overlooking the many. They are praise-worthy and respected due to being blessed with incredible talents and skills. Their power corresponds to the limitations and abilities to what their race characterizes them to have.

Basically in every race, there would be at least five to eight Purebloods.

Under the classification of Purebloods, there are also ones called the Crescents or the Original Purebloods. Typically, each race has two of these—one male and one female. It was recorded that they themselves descended from the gods. They were the ones who were personally made and sculpted by the deities and are intentionally made to be immortal—specifically for them to grow races and empires, I suppose.
