He laughs, "Well yeah I guess I jumped the gun a bit there." and I can see the smile slowly start to fade.
I raise his face back to meet my gaze, "Kendall you don't have to do all of this and I know you feel like you have to be my savior but trust me when I say, Its not your place and you don't have to be."
As he gets up to move to the couch I see a tear escape his eye, "I don't feel like I HAVE to do anything. I just wish you could see this is something I WANT to do for you. I know you think I'm absolutely nuts," he pauses with his back to me, "But there comes a time in your life when you have something strange happen to you." He turns to face me and I see the tears glisten against the light from the fire, "That happened the night I met you. Lets face it. I could have mailed Carlos his phone or left it in his mailbox. I didn't HAVE to make such a big production about getting it to him personally and then there is my career..." He pauses and I jump up running to him, "Kendall what happened with that?" I asked.
A small smile crosses his face, "It wasn't me and I didn't want it. I would love to say I gave it up for you but that was honestly more for me, it just benefited you as well."
I shake my head, "I don't understand how it benefited me."
He smiles, "Well once we are married you wouldn't be home alone all the time like if I were still a rock star. Not to mention the guys and I have talked about starting a band." he quickly adds, "You could be our groupie." he jokes.
I started to laugh, "You are SO determined that your going to marry me aren't you?"
He takes my hand and sits me on the couch, "(yn) are you trying to tell me you didn't feel it? Haven't had ANY feelings at all?"
I hesitate, "Well..."
He jumps up, "See! I knew it!"
I laugh, "That doesn't mean I want to run off and get married to you. We barely know each other."
He sits back down, "That's okay. I will wait as long as it takes. What about your situation though? What are you going to do?"
I shake my head, "Well saying Carlos is the father is definitely out of the question and what your suggesting with you is just crazy..."
He cups my head in his hands, "But its just crazy enough to work." and he gently kisses my lips.
I pull away slightly, "I guess I just need some time to think about it."
He pulls me close, "I can give you all the time you need. Just know I'm not going anywhere no matter how hard you try to get rid of me."
We lay there next to the fire with me cuddled up in his arms and he is gently stroking my hair. I’m about to doze off when a thought hits me and I sit straight up, “So you aren’t worried about looking bad? You’re just worried about making me look bad?”
He sits up and gently strokes my cheek, “I don’t care what I look like as long as you’re not hurt in the process.” He slowly starts to smile, “So are you really considering this?”
I giggle slightly and lay back down with my head in his lap, never saying a word. He runs his hand gently through my hair, “Are you going to answer me?”
