I stared at my ceiling and wished that jumping off that cliff would've worked but it didn't. My plan had to fail, like my life, over and over again. Fail after fail after fail...

I decided to finally just get up and face the world. Little did I know that would mean months of therapy and facing people I never wanted to see again just to try to make things "better." I got up off of my bed and went downstairs to see my dad sitting on the couch with his head in his hands and next to him was my aunt, who I hadn't seen in years, rubbing his back. When they looked up and saw that I was downstairs they got up and ran to me and hugged me so tightly I didn't think I could breathe.

"Sweetie," my aunt said through tears, "go pack a suitcase and prepare for any kind of weather or activities."

I was slightly confused then thought to myself that it is probably just was an escape from reality to some faraway island. I packed a suitcase full of a week's worth of clothes then followed my father out to the car, followed by my aunt.

The whole way to wherever we were going my dad sat in the passenger seat while sobbing his eyes out, his whole body shook when hecried. I just put earbuds in and listened to my playlist.

The roads we were taken were very unfamiliar, and as we approached our destination I noticed the road had turned to gravel and trees consumed us. The road became thinner and thinner until finally a large field was revealed.

There was a fence around the whole place and when we pulled up the building looked like a large prep school. I was slowly took my earbuds out, one, then the other.

I got out and looked at my aunt, "What is this place?"

She looked at me while biting her tongue and thinking of the best way to explain it without frightening me.

"It's a... um..." she brightened up and held my shoulders, "a correctional facility."

"You're putting me in jail?!" I exclaimed.

"No... no... I guess those aren't the right words. It's a place that will help you get your mind back to normal." She smiled as she walked past me and opened the trunk so I could retrieve my bag.

"So, you're sending me to a mental hospital?" I gave her an annoyed glance.

"No.." before she could finish I took my bag from her hands and pushed past her.

"Thanks."

I walked up to the passenger door where my dad was staring straight ahead of him, a completely blank expression was worn on his face. I opened the door and wiped a single tear from his cheek, "I'll be back soon Dad."

I kissed his cheek and clicked the door closed and walked up to the front entrance.
