I woke up looking around to see what time it was. I noticed it was still a little dark outside. I carefully got up and fell back down. Forgot I twisted my ankle. I get up carefully as to not put pressure on my sprained ankle. I limped over to the table and grabbed a water bottle out of it. I poured some on my leg and found some bandages in it. I grabbed one roll out and I wrapped it around my ankle tightly. It took me a couple tries because I wrapped it a little too tight. I grabbed out some berries to snack on and I decided to go out and watch the sunrise. I opened up the plane door and sat down on the ledge looking out. I sat there for a few minutes until I heard shuffling behind me. I looked behind me to see Jayy getting up.
"Good morning Dahvie. Take care of your ankle?" He said like he was a servant. I giggled at that. He came over to sit next to me with a blanket and wrapped it around us. I didn't notice it was chilly until the warmth engulfed me. I looked at him smiling.
"Yes sir I did. I know mother and father would loathe me if I didn't. I also fed my hunger too." We started busting out laughing. When our laughter started to ease I rested my head on Jayy's shoulder. I wrapped my arms around him and he did the same. I love being this close to him. I smelled him and he smelt bad. I started laughing and he kept asking me 'what's so funny?' I just sat there laughing some more.
"You smell pretty bad." I managed to say without laughing. He laughed at me and said I stunk too. He ruffled my hair playfully. We were actually having a pretty fun time. I was wondering what we were planning on doing today.
"What are we going to do today? I believe I saw some coconut trees on the beach yesterday." We needed to get more food so we don't run out.
"Sure. Let's go to the beach and gather some coconuts." He said as he stood up and stretched. I'm going to need a stick to walk. I then came up with an idea.
"Jayy. How about you go get coconuts while I go get us water? It seems a lot easier to do than to go back and forth. I can use a stick to walk there." I said hoping he'd say yes. I looked at him and he looks like he's thinking about it. I sat there patiently waiting for his answer.
"If you're sure you can walk but if I get back from the beach and you're not here I'm coming to look for you. I don't want anything bad happening to you." He said slowly still thinking about it. I nodded. I got up and hugged him. I grabbed an empty bag as Jayy grabbed the other one. He put the empty water bottles into my bag so I could fill them all up. I had about three bottles in my bag. He also gave me some berries for the walk there. We got out of the plane and I grabbed a good steady looking stick. We hugged then departed our separate ways.
I was getting the hang of walking with a stick. I heard a noise and figured it was the stream. I was getting close to it. I walked a couple more steps and reached the stream. I put the stick down and sat by the stream. I pulled off my bag and opened the water bottles. I sat there filling them up and got this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach as if someone or something's watching me. I looked around kinda freaked out. I looked around for a couple minutes and turned back to the water. I played it off as my imagination. I finished filling up the last bottle and decided I should eat and drink. I took my shoes off and put my feet in the water getting them washed.
I think I was sitting there enjoying the quietness for about half an hour and decided I should get up to go back to the plane. I put everything away in my bag and stood up. I didn't want to worry Jayy so I did everything quickly. I got up swung the bag over my shoulder, picked up the stick then started walking back to plane. I was almost there when I ran into Jayy.
"Sorry. I rested up a bit back by the stream. Sorry if I worried you." I said looking up at him. He put his hand out for me and I grabbed ahold and he lifted me up. He nodded at me.
"It's fine. You were right. There were coconuts on the beach. Let's go back to the plane and eat then sleep." I nodded and we walked back to the plane hand in hand. We reached the plane within about twenty minutes. I couldn't wait to write in my journal about today. We climbed up the ladder and dropped all our stuff on the table. We sat there and Jayy put a knife in a couple coconuts for us to get the drink out. We ate some berries and some leftover food from the other day. It was dark out so we decided to get ready to sleep. We stripped down to our boxers. Jayy laid down under the covers and I sat down to write in my notebook.
'Day three. Today I watched the sunrise with Jayy. I had went to the stream without him today while he went and got coconuts from the beach. When I was at the river as I was filling up the water bottles I had this bad feeling in my gut as if someone or something was watching me. After looking around for a few minutes, I played it off as my imagination. I could walk with a stick today even though I twisted my ankle the other day. I wonder if our friends have noticed that we haven't called them like we said we were going to when we land. I hope they send someone to come look for us. I also hope that my ankle feels better within the next few days.' I finished writing and closed the book. I went over to the bed and crawled under the covers. Jayy wrapped his arms around me and I smiled.
"Good night Jayy."
"Good night Dahvie. Don't let the bed bugs bite." I giggled and closed my eyes for sleep to overcome me.
