POV  Audrey

"Music is the only thing that makes sense"

I sat on the pleasant green grass. The sun caressed me with its warm rays. I looked over the horizon in the city. People lived their lives normally, oblivious to the fact that just under their noses, or in this case just above them is a boarding school for boys and girls with supernatural abilities.

I wonder if there were all sorts of strange incidents they could not describe, though it was just an illusion, or just something inexplicable, something I do not know yet how to explain.

Suddenly I heard a kind of sound. A pleasant and gentle sound, like .. guitar?

I followed the sound, it was nearby. I noticed hands touching thin strings, a boy with curly black hair and tan skin. He was so focused on his playing, playing so precisely, it reminded me of the way I like to play, alone, concentrated, just me and the piano.

When he looked up, I knew who he was. It was the boy who talked to us earlier today, Jonathan. He looked at me and said nothing.

"Hey," I said in a quiet, slightly embarrassed voice.

"Audrey ... right?" he said. It was nice to know that he remembered my name, it was usually difficult for people to catch it for some reason.

"Yes, it's nice you remembered" I smiled a crooked smile and sat down next to him.
"It's just because you're British," he said, smiling.

"Got it!" I giggled.

"what are you doing here?"

"In the sense of here next to you, or in the sense of here in relation to the universe, or the atmosphere?"

"In relation to, did you listen to me play?" He asked and played with the guitar strings.

"Maybe, how long have you played the guitar?"

"About three years"

"impressive"

"And are you playing on any instrument?"

"Yes, on the piano"

"Nice, playing the piano is tough"

"It depends who you ask"

"I'd love to hear you play the opportunity"

"If you play some more on the guitar," he smiled a little.

"Okay, we did a deal," he said after a few seconds of thought and went to the guitar.

"What do you want me to play?"

He suggested when he saw that I did not answer, "Dusk Till Dawn" he said.

I let out a little breath, it was one of my favorite songs.

I listened to him when he took the guitar and started to play. His playing was so mesmerizing and beautiful,  I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, a simple instrument, but from which so many melodies could be created.

He looked so ... beautiful and attractive when he played. When he finished, I applauded him.

"Thank you, thank you" He made a gesture of bowing with his hands.

I laughed again. "I think I should go see what about Viola and Lorian," I said, getting up from the grass.

"Hey, you owe me a song on the piano," he reminded me.

"Do not worry, I keep my promises," I said with a smile and walked away.
