Two weeks had passed ever since my incident with Ronnie Banks. It was such an amazing experience that we had to keep between ourselves. I couldn't even tell Raquel or anyone else, neither could Ronnie tell his boys. The most awkward part about what happened was that we had sex in Raquel's house.
Unfortunately, none of us have been able to find Naomi.
At this point, she's probably going to be found in a ditch somwhere and frankly, Raquel doesn't think that way. She was always optimistic and I was the complete opposite. It's just how it works!
My mom and I decided to go dress shopping. Tomorrow was our senior prom and a few days after was graduation. After that, high school would be over. There would be no more people judging you how many friends you have or if you're listening to the right music and frankly, that made me glad. High school was such a big blur. With all the drugs and partying, it was crazy and I couldn't seem to cope with it.
Suddenly, my phone started buzzing on my dresser. I took off the towel that I had on my head and set it on my bed as I answered the call. It was Ronnie, of course.
"Hey, beautiful," he whispered with his groggy voice that he always had in the mornings. Guys' sleepy voices are the best, of course.
I chuckled, "Good morning, Banks," I smiled. "What are you doing today?" He asked. "Just going dress shopping, and you?" I answered. "Ah, dress shopping. For prom?" He asked. "Yes, and graduation!" I corrected him with a wit.
"Make sure you get something red. You've always looked best in my favorite color," he chuckled. "Let me guess, you're wearing red?" I raised an eyebrow and smiled.
"Yeah, how'd you know?" He gasped. "I know you so well, Ronnie," I smirked.
The only weird thing about this situation was that he hadn't even asked me to prom. I mean, I was obviously hoping he wasn't thinking of asking anyone else but still. Did this really have to be hidden? According to Ronnie, none of his friends could know and I almost didn't mind. Although, a piece of me wanted everyone to know about us and I couldn't do anything about it for now if I didn't want to lose him.
My mother knocked on my door, asking if I was ready. "We'll be heading out in a few minutes, so we're ready when you are," she smiled softly. "Okay," I mouthed, as she noticed I was on the phone. She sighed smiling and closed the door. "Hey, Ronnie, I have to go. I'm going shopping now," I said softly. "Alright, Sel. Text me though!" He said cheerfully. I chuckled, "Okay, I will," and hung up.
I picked up my purse that was on my bed and headed out the door. I looked at myself quickly in the hallway mirror before leaving the house. Suddenly, my phone started buzzing in my purse. It was...of course.
M.P.G.
Although, this time he/she was calling me. I hesitated and reluctantly answered, waiting to hear what they'd say. "Hello, Selena," the voice cackles mischievously. It was the voice of a bitchy 21-year-old girl with lots of horrible things planned for us. "Do you honestly think Ronnie is proud to have you as a girlfriend?" she chuckled.
"Matter of fact, yes. Why? Is that a problem?" I said confidently.
"You'd be surprised in why he keeps you as a secret from his friends. What if he was cheating on you with a Valentina? You wouldn't happen to know that name now, would you?" she gasped sarcastically. "Shut the fuck up! You don't know what you're talking about," I exclaimed.
"Oh, but I do...and you wouldn't happen to know about a certain night in a Motel 6 that happened almost two months ago, right?" she laughed. I felt my heart racing faster and faster. She was catching onto me and I was becoming more anxious by it. "What...are you talking about?" I managed to say.
