it's lunchtime and you're sat with nina and jessica around a table at the end of the cafeteria, wanting to avoid attention from the other liberty high students.
out of curiosity, you pull out your phone from your bag and open instagram, wanting to know more about this scott reed guy so you decide to ask your closest friends. "hey, do any of you guys know who scott reed is?"
jess nods, taking a bite of her apple. when she finishes chewing, she explains who scott reed is.
"yeah, scott is on the baseball team. i thought you know him because of..." jess trails off, not wanting to mention jeff's name only with the intention of not wanting to upset you already on your first day back.
on the other hand, nina shrugs her shoulders. "i don't know him personally, but he is pretty cute. i'd definitely date him if only he weren't friends with those assholes," she nods her head in the direction where bryce walker and montgomery de la cruz are sat.
shaking your head, you sigh. "no, i don't really remember. i'm asking because he messaged me on instagram. here, look at what he said."
you hand your phone to the two girls, watching them to see how they react. they both smile, as jess hands you your phone back. "(Y/N), honestly? i think he was just being kind, and not an idiot like his friends are."
nina supports jessica's statement, "him and jeff were pretty close," jess winces at his name, "scott was devastated so i doubt this is some sort of a sick joke."
you smile, feeling assured of the messages from scott. "you're right, he's just being friendly. well it's nice to see that he doesn't fit the jock stereotype this school expects every jock to be."
jessica and nina agree, quietly chuckling. as you three laugh, scott walks past your table and smiles at you before heading to bryce's table. before you could have the chance to return the smile, scott already disappears to his table.
your phone makes a pinging noise, indicating that you have a new notification. you swipe right on your phone to see that it's an instagram dm.
