About Two Words

Number Four (Poem)

Four is a number whose word is four letters

Half of four is two, and two twos make four nonetheless

Two plus two is four

Two times two is four

Two to the power of two is four

But two minus two is zero

And two divided two is one

If two twos is four but also zero and one

Is four, zero; and four, one?

Because if so four is nothing and everything

Four is life

But not without two

Four lobes of the brain

Four chambers of the heart

Four corners to a square

Four biological grandparents, dead or alive

Four horsemen of the apocalypse

Four neutrons in beryllium

Of which you can die or berylliosis

Or make a gem to delight

Four seasons

Two sides

One life

So use it well
