After the great debacle over school, I went over to Rain's house. I always go to her whenever I'm pissed or sad. I decided to walk the long way and go through the park. I saw all these kids my age smoking and drinking. I wondered what it would be like if I was normal like them. Would I be smoking and drinking? Probably not; I'm afraid of stuff like that. I pushed that to the back of my mind. I felt a hand on my shoulder. Startled, I turned around only to see Ever. "Where are you headed?" He asked then pulled me into a hug. I pulled away and answered "I'm going to Rain's house... Wanna come?" He smirked and put his arm around me. "I'd love to! ONWARD!" I tried to stay angry but I couldn't. "ONWARD!" I laughed. We walked in silence with the exception of Ever humming Runaway Train. I honestly could've walked with him forever. We made it to Rain's house and went out back to the her bedroom door. I knocked three times then kicked once then knocked again twice so she'd know it was me. "Password?" She said in a deep voice. "Nair Melas" I replied. Ever looked at me in confusion... "It's our names backwards." I laughed. "Who is with you?" She said again in her best 'guard voice'. "Sir Everette of the shire." I giggled. "You may enter" Rain answered in her normal soft voice. We walked into her room that was filled with posters and artwork of her own. "What's up?" She asked walking over to her desk. "Well, me and my mom got into an argument..." I answered playing with her colored pencils. "Oh! What about?" She loves to hear what my crazy mother has to complain about. "About school... And me... And my-" I stopped. I don't want him to know that I'm dying. "Your what?" Ever asked very concered. "My... Um... My condition." I automatically regretted what I said. "What condition?" He put his hand on my leg and looked into my eyes sympathetically. "No. Don't do that." I stood up. "Do what?" He asked still looking at me like I'm a kicked puppy. "I can't handle it when people give me the 'Aw poor baby' look. It makes me feel helpless." I didn't mean to sound bitchy but I did. "Oh... I'm sorry..." He looked away. I must've hurt his feelings.. "Woah... This is awkward." Rain interrupted.
