A/N Sorry this is late. I went to New York and I wasn't allowed to bring my computer
Athena stared at her phone. Namjoon's text tone had just binged on her phone for the second time, and she didn't want to read it. She already knew what they said, so there was no need to actually read them. I can't make it. Sorry. It was stupid. Athena stared at the empty table in front of her, where nice place settings were, although she had not ordered anything, for she had wanted to wait for her lover. Not that it mattered now.
"Ma'am you must order, or you must leave," a waiter told her, a little carefully, for her face looked so empty it was scary, he brown eyes hollow.
"I'll take a bottle of your strongest whiskey," she said. "To go, please." He looked unsure.
"I'm sorry, we don't serve whiskey here," he said, shrinking a little when she looked at him.
"I'll take the bottle of vodka then," Athena said. His eyes widened.
"Our highest concentration is ninety-four percent-" he warned.
"I'll take it," she said, handing him the tip. He looked at the huge amount in his hand and scurried off.
Within ten minutes she was outside, walking to the bar. She needed a night away. Little did she know, Jin was searching for her, and Jimin and Taehyung were at that very club, hoping that she wouldn't go there. But much to the displeasure, she arrived at the very same club Jin had been instructed to keep her away from.
Athena stepped inside. The foul smell of sweat and alcohol was overwhelming, as was the loud electronic beat everyone was swaying to. It filled her senses, feeding the buzz she had already gotten from the sips of vodka she'd drank.
She stomped over to the bar, looking for the usual bartender, who was like a therapist to the drunk and depressed people who came to the bar for solace. However, she did not find him there.
"Where's Ming?" she asked the bartender.
"It's funny, you're the second person to ask that. He went out back to talk with some folk," he said. She nodded and headed out back. Unlike Taehyung and Jimin, she knew her way around the club, her muscle memory taking her around no problem. She stopped when she saw someone come up behind her.
"Athena?" someone called. It was Jimin. She turned around, glaring at him. He ran up to her, V following behind. Jimin wrapped his arms around her, picking her up and slinging her off his shoulder. She screamed. Taehyung blocked the door.
"Jimin! What are you doing?!" she screeched. "Put me down!"
"I'm sorry, darling. I can't," he said. She pounded his back furiously but he wouldn't let her. They began to bring her back. She was more determined than ever to get behind that door now.
Taehyung walked in front of the two, and she saw an opportunity. "I'm sorry," she said, before kicking V's back, making him fall forward, and pushing her out of Jimin's grip in one. She fell, scraping her palms on the ground, the stinging pain not stopping her from standing up immediately, making a run for the door.
"Athena!" Jimin called, but it was too late, she had already opened the door, and the effect was immediate. It was as if her heart broke in front of them. They could almost hear it. Athena took a shaky step back, her form almost crumbling.
She found Ming, alright. The bartender was pressing someone against the wall, kissing them passionately. Though the figure's face was mostly covered, she could definitely recognize Namjoon's dimples and blue-silver hair. Athena watched helplessly.
"Athena! Athena? Where is she?" Jin asked, rushing into the bar, helplessly clutching Jimin's arm. He shook his head quietly and pointed down the hallway. Jin's heart broke seeing her like this. He rushed to her, catching her weak form. He tried to drag the broken girl away.
"Namjoon..." she muttered softly, her eyes glazed. It wasn't loud, but he somehow managed to hear her. The man broke the kiss, looking over to the girl. He saw her and pushed Ming off him, going to her as Jin took her away, but Taehyung stepped in front of him.
"V let me through," he said urgently. Taehyung blocked the older one.
"No. I can't let you do that. Don't you see you've done enough?" the younger one said, his eyes filled with tears for the girl. In the few months they had known her, she had become like family. And family has to be protected. Namjoon still tried to get through. Taehyung pushed him harder. Namjoon stumbled back. "Didn't you hear what I said? You just destroyed her, Namjoon! She's... she's broken."
Namjoon heard those words, and something in his head clicked. Today, he had come into this bar, worrying about a stupid problem. Now, all of this seemed silly, because he had done exactly what he had told himself he would never do. He had broken her, something he promised himself he wouldn't do. The love of his life was broken, and it was his fault.
