Instructor hushes the idle chatter quickly and begins our lessons. Purples are only aloud to learn how to plant and harvest crops, manners on how to treat higher regions, and a daily lecture of the history of how Novus came to be.

"In the year 3056 a huge nuclear explosion coming from an unknown source from space killed off and destroyed more than 80% of the world. Millions were killed and many of the modern technologies were wiped out completely and everything was left in the dark. During this darkness, world leaders split off to lead groups of people to try to rebuild what they had lost. One leader, refused to leave the land where the meteor hit and many stood by him for lack of a better plan. " Instructor pauses. "This leader, Asher, became the founder and creator of Novus. We hold him in high esteem don't we?" His purple eyes flicker to many faces.

"This place became known as, Novus. By the year 3070, the government split off into a new type of leadership where there would be only one king instead of a president." He paused again.

i glanced at Ginger. She sighed, looking a bit tired and smiled.

"Who can tell me what happened shortly after the naming of a king?" Instructor asked.

Pepper, a smart boy, raised his hand. Instructor nodded.

"The government announced a few dead bodies were being pronounced violently dead and to prevent a riot or chaos, everyone was to immediately receive a LIFE-SAVING vaccine. Everyone was ordered to receive this vaccine for their own protection." Pepper's smug smile made me a little annoyed.

"Who can tell me what happened in the year 3120?" Instructors eyes scanned for someone to call on. "Tea?" I flinched. Why did he have to pick me?! I gulped and slowly stood up from my seat and recited the lecture we had been hearing since Year Six. "The year became 3120, and the generations of our ancestors were born with a peculiar defect where their eyes turned unnatural colors compared to the norm of that time. Scientists and the king explained it was the radiation from the explosion that had happened so many years ago that had mutated because of the passing of generations." I sat down quickly.

Instructor seemed satisfied and continued,

"Year 3121 came and a new order came into rest. Novus would be separated into regions, by eye color. Each color given a new job and place to live. Anyone who objected, would be killed immediately to avoid any type of rebellion. And thanks to our now reigning king, Alpha the glorious, we are living to serve him in exchange for our lives."

After that, he dismissed us.
