I was soo happy today. I was going to graduate from university. I worked so hard to come here and now i couldn't believe i was graduating. I couldn't wait for everything to start for the names to get called out and for the head teacher to shake our hands.
The hall was buzzing with excitement as student took their seats at the bottom and parents' and families at the top. Prize's would be given to the best students and everyone will shake hands with the principle and some chosen students will make speeches about their experience of university luckily i didn't get chosen as i wasn't a very good public speaker.
I looked at all the proud parents faces wishing that mine would be as proud as they were .I had persuaded mama to come who then persuaded papa.
"can we have silence please."the hall went silent and i couldn't wait.
"Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls WELCOME TO OUR ANNUAL GRADUATING CEREMONY!CAN WE HAVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE" everyone started to clap with smiles on their faces.
"This year every student has worked extremely hard and strived to get the best results and achieve their goals in life. Through their hard work, grit and determination they have reached the stage of graduating from university. SO firstly i would like to thank you all and congratulate you for your success .And a massive thank you to all the parents for their support."
everyone started to clap again. ughh they didn't need to clap after every sentence.
"soo shall we begin todays exiting ceremony. so firstly i would like to invite Hafsah Ali on stage for achieving the trophy for student of the year"
Hafsah walked on stage and accepted her trophy and then gave a long boring speech. She was one of the really good student's well i was good too but she was like miss perfect.
The principle carried on saying several names and ten students gave their speeches about how university helped them and how they could achieve their goals now.
"NOW I would like to invite 5 of our most hardworking and resilient students:
so.......
1: Aisha Hussain
2: Yousef Ali
3:Alia Ahmed
4:Isabble John
5:Mahnoor Mahmood. OMG is actually said my name yeahhhhhh.
I got off my seat and walked down my row and up toward the stage. I felt like all eyes were only on me. I looked for mama and papa but i couldn't see them but at least they could see me. I hoped they were proud of me. We were stood in a line as the principal walked down the line giving everyone their chocolate box and medal.
"well-done Mahnoor." She said when she came to me and and gave a handshake .
I walked off stage and sat back down on my seat. I couldn't wait to eat my chocolate's. The principal carried on calling name's out and congratulate everyone. And then she invited everyone on stage and told us to stand in rows i was stood on the second front row and then we threw our hats whilst parents took photos.
